Look at the history of each pilot? There shouldnt be any doubt who the agressor is?
Everything has been laid out for you very clearly, but if you want to make unfounded assumptions based on conjecture that’s your right.
Please be aware you said it obviously wasnt a gank but the pilots that destroyed the mackinaw are clearly gankers.
What do you think happened?
The tred is not about hisec ganking.
It is about the expansion that turns your hisec system to lowsec. And lack of clear mechanism to prevent it other that “you solo dualbox player should unite into new Goonns of hisec to prevent Pirate expansion, or leave the game as we dont need your poor weak dollar, we now want only PvP all the way” which is aimed toward people WHO DO NOT WANT/CAN NOT UNITE WITH OTHERS.
“Take your assets and move your sh&t to another system” - not the best way for CCP to speak to its customers/users
Ganking is off topic then.
The title should probably be changed because there is a similar named thread about ganking. Have a nice day
Only the strong get a choice, that’s how the entire game has gone for 20 years.
Being purposefully “helpless” and “weak” does not earn you a right to exert your will on the game. Neither does it earn you moral virtue.
Please define being weak, because being non-aggresive is a virtue in most cases and thats what most people who live in high-sec are. Non-aggresive. They will stay non-aggresive even if you incentivize pirates to come and disrupt their system and thats why content like Havoc will always be dominated by pirates
In the fantasy universe of New Eden it is not a virtue. It is an exploitable weakness. If your shield is an attacker’s pity then that’s an illogical, unsound, borderline insane defense strategy.
Imo you are ranting and quoting me out of context. Thank you for the comment none the less.
IMO you have an established pattern of communicating that is challenging to build a bridge across. But thank you for the comment none the less.
Im a level above you i guess. I will walk myself out
Wow, if I had to give a Pornhub title to the exchange that just took place, it would be something like “slutty griefer twink gets pounded by big dunkin’ daddy Wesfahrn”.
@Io_Koval you have to biomass now.
You could always join Mike Azariah and help him get new modules for Rookies by running combat anomalies or missions.
See this still going. What system(s) did gurista get anyway?
Angel and min mil is what I have done since back. I don’t follow others beyond when gal mil had firsts. First suppression single system. 1st full win with recent changes. Good for them too, genuinely given.
Being honest…Ossogur in insurgency and Ossogur even before this were about the same.
.5 runners accepted pvp happened. Amamake was right there lol. .5 will see visitors and ships lost sometimes. It’s what gave hek its charm too. Also it’s why .5 pay better by empire rates.
Hma wanders beyond hek too…
Funny thing I saw some rant on this in wow classic series…on pvp servers.
OMFG, I got ganked on grobbulus!
Nah dude, pvp happened on a pvp server. Grobb is a RP PvP server. Actually, somewhat balanced even. It was 50/50 ish and not more 60/40 (horde favored last I cared to check).
See in wow’s older days before something called warmode (pvp turn off basically) happened, the by the masses decreed “best” servers were the pvp ones. Best being real subjective to people lol. But yeah…raiders were more on these servers for even the PVE focused folks.
They were on the prime servers that had pvp, then whined about pvp happening. They had PVE options.
The moral to story…we’d tell them well then go to the pve carebear server. Their reply was well…I don’t want to do that!
Okay…well then welcome to a pvp server’s say Stranglethorn valley. You will be doing some pvp there in the night lol. Wanted or unwanted it would come.
There are people who are ready to hang in lowsec space for hours together in order to kill one player and compare the length of their e-&*^% on zkillboard, and there are those who come to play for an hour after work in a quiet highsec.
Then move to a 0.9 system and mine veldspar if you want quiet and safer space. The option is there already there for you.
- Be clear about the end game of insurgency. It is maddening to read through every update and still not find a clear and concise answere to what happens once the pirates get to the needed number of systems.
It’s already plainly stated in the insurgency window ingame. There’s a button called “learn more”
Provide rewards for those high sec miners to dab their toe into PVP: The game IS about pvp and any efforts to market it otherwise is false advertising (which CPP is guilty of). Insurgency offers opportunities here but it needs to STRONGLY reward players for working on supression. Right now there are almost no benefits to that
The reward is substantial amounts of lp. It’s worth substantially more than mining hisec rocks. So much more that it’s the income of most people in fw.
And at the meta level a problem here is that the learning curve is ridiculously steep AND they dont’ have a good way of creating learning enviroments to help people get up that ramp. Having a vexor crushed by a Hectate is not learning. And so rather than play endlessly (and lose) for the chance that people come across similarly skilled new players folks stick to PVE activities. Then they get mad when those are taken away. Hard games are not a problem. Hard games without ramp to learn are.
which is why you start small in frigates and then move up the latter. Learning as you lose, understanding what went wrong and what went right, joining pvp groups that can share/help through their experience. This is formulaic.
That is no longer true after the super umbrella was nerfed by removing cyno’s from every ship and introducing filaments. Even dead end pocket systems could end up with a 25 man filament gang showing up without even a moment of notice.
Honestly the idea of a solo player in a mmorpg is extremely redundant. Just play a solo rpg if you wanna play alone lol It seems so weird to me you’d wanna log into an online game like this and not play with other people.
Depends on what type of solo play we’re talking about.
What you wrote is true if someone wants to play an MMO in isolation.
Another possibilities exists however:
One can have a solo playstyle (like fly alone or only do manufacturing, trading, mining or whatever else mostly alone) but not get bothered by or even outright embrace being part of the shared New Eden experience. (So still minimal interaction with others but not isolation either.)
And one can play with or even primarily for the social aspect even if they do solo stuff. Similar to the above but while doing their stuff solo they may be on one or several channels (public and private or even outside the game) where they interact with other people. (So technically still solo but also social as well.)
