The moron in the mackinaw either got sussy baited, accidentally accepted a duel, or had a kill right on them. Probably the the first since the proteus zkill shows them killing mtus and no loses in highsec
LOL. So your chances of being blown up raised from 0% to 0.012%… inacceptable for a miner!
That is probably one of the foremost points I’ve made in 2 years on the forum. Why would anyone log in to a massive multiplayer game to do stuff they could just as well do in some solo offline game like Homeworld ? Why are people logging in to a multiplayer game and then coming up with ’ I just want to be left alone to do xyz in peace ’ ? It is bizarre. It’s like they fundamentally do not understand what an MMORPG actually is.
There is a difference between “I want to be left alone” and “I want to find my own niche”. Perhaps people like pvp/interaction occasionally, perhaps they need or want to do things at their own speed, perhaps they’re doing some form of ironman challenge, perhaps they’d rather have other people as a challenge and score keeping measure than just NPC.
There are many reasons, both in game as real life, why people might want to play a more solo play style but in an environment that has other people in it. In EVE there is room for all as long as they accept and adjust to EVE’s basic premise.
Yes…its called the latter being a red herring.
If someone undocks then that undocking is consent to PvP. There is no ‘finding my niche’ exclusion clause from that. People don’t go round with little ‘Finding My Niche’ or ’ Only An Occasional PvP-er’ tags above them. Everyone is fair game. That is why the game is called Everyone Versus Everyone.
Stop being dumb.
You can find your niche within the larger world, regardless of it being pvp or not.
Those are not mutually exclusive. You can choose to not interact too much while still accepting that it’s pvp sandbox where things can go wrong. You can choose to avoid being part of (bigger) groups while accepting that (bigger) groups can affect your gameplay.
It’s not difficult, it’s not black or white. There’s actually nuance.
Stop using silly ad hominems. They are just another form of the logical fallaciousness you are already espousing.
That is just meaningless hyperbole. There is no objective measurement of ‘too much’. And you are still side-tracking onto some ‘niche’ red herring when the original statement referred to ’ I want to be left alone '.
Which the ‘I want to be left alone’ people don’t do.
No, it’s red…as in herring. Or, if you actually need logic explaining…you are not arguing the point originally being made.
You pick the strangest hills ever to fight on. I play largely solo these days. I live in my own WH, with my own stuff, doing my own things. I like the MMO aspect because I can interact with the market and other players as enemies and the game landscape is constantly evolving. At no point have I ever complained I want to be left alone, or not interact with others. You are perfectly free to come knock over my sand castle if you want. The fact remains, I like building that castle by myself without being beholden to anyone else’s timeline or demands.
Indeed. I gave this Cilly altlalt a chance but it’s just too painful having to deal with, into the ignore bin it goes.
Bah…you clearly can’t cope with the fact that I specifically related one issue…and you red herring-ed with another matter entirely and got caught at it. Please do ignore, as then I’ll have less logical fallacies to have to contend with.
Then I wasn’t referring to you in the first place. Sheesh !
@Lucky_Bustard You want solo play in a multiplayer game
It’s like expecting to see other players a single-player game.
What’s so hard to understand? Some people just want to log in and make some ISKies because they’re peaceful players, and also because they already have busy and stressful lives and don’t want to deal with some kid yelling at them in corp chat to show up for a 2 AM op on a Monday night.
They want to play a multiplayer game because they’re perfectly happy to manufacture all the items that PvPers use to fight each other while not taking part in the fighting themselves, which is how the system should work. If you disagree, then it’s obvious you need therapy.
People’s inability, on this forum, to respond to what someone actually said…rather than some tangential straw man.
Ah…you want to play snakes and ladders. OK…down the snake you slide to post #102. You know, the one where I answered that point a dozen posts ago.
Nope. The system should, and does, work such that nobody is safe anywhere in space. It has always been that way.
This forum IS my therapy. Being shown that I am not the battiest person around is very therapeutic.
That’s up, not down.
Last I looked, 102 was less than 113. Though this is Eve…where there are purple stars and ships still have their engines firing while decelerating. Plus Destiny thinks all mining ship EHPs were buffed…so is clearly living in The Upside Down.
Ok, can someone explain up and down to Altara?
You could give me 1 billion ISK. And I still wouldn’t do it.
Except there is no space in EvE, it’s more like water. There’s an up and down in a water tank and the ships are actually submarines.
