Sometimes I’m getting rewards for smth (daily, events etc..) in the form of BOOSTERS.
But I cannot receive them into my inventory. They, instead, consuming upon delivery!
This is stupid, guys lol
I mean, my 2nd window is a support character and I’m getting damage boosters which I don’t need there (trained to logistics and damps exclusively). So, I just trash those booster for good.
It would be better if players could “itemize” them and sell or transfer to characters who will benefit from them.
SOLUTION:
make boosters be deliverable directly into INVENTORY, as the other stuff, like skins and .. fireworks.
That may be the intention, but effectively the redeeming mechanics just works as a huge and readily available cargohold and you have all your booster collection readily injectable with you at all times (before they expire ofc), no matter where or in which ship you are.
That’s a possible benefit that @Shagai_Pon may have overlooked. I really prefer to have it as it is now. No one hinders you from buying specific additional boosters on the market and hassle with them as you want.
At least selling them wouldn’t be possible anymore if they were itemized and still given away with the current frequency. The prices would just drop to negative values with that amount of supply that everyone would flood the markets with…
Kinda wish you could at least have them as account bound item or visible via item vault or something you can consume while not going out of game to some full screen redeem when fight is about to happen ^^;
The boosters are auto-redeem and with an expiry so that these boosters can be handed out for free without economic impact.
The main alternative with same outcome is to not hand out these items at all.
Just use them if you see a good opportunity! That is what they are for: to be used, not to be sold for ISk.
Personally I would prefer if all the free handouts were removed, I never liked these manipulative dark patterns like ‘log in rewards’ or ‘daily tasks’ that modern games use to boost player numbers. Improve the gameplay if you want players to log in instead of literally bribing them to do so.
Not sure how you are doing it wrong, but the redeeming is perfectly accessible in a fully manageable ingame window (minimize, maximize, move around, resize) window ingame…and it is account bound…everything you want to have? Similar to any vault that would be?
The icon is down below on your neocom. Not the gift box, but below, also looks like a box.
I know about the redeem window, and it is precisely the one that sucks. Not sure how much stuff you have dangling there, but even if filtered, it takes way much space on screen compared to a normal item in regular inventory (as in, at minimum size that is commonly popped out for drugs, you can fit 30 inventory windows into one minimal redeem). Having a “consume” action was enough for over a decade and it was fine, suddenly we need 2 different station redeem buttons for items for which can’t even go to a station. (at least let me double click or smth…) . Screenshot of minimal size of both windows for reference, which is still generous for the redeem one, because normally you’d have drugs in a can so it would take top and bottom off that window as well.
It’s just weird it goes backwards UI wise this much XD If they don’t want us to sell them, they could just have the same mechanic that existed, and make those items account bound. Redeem to inventory does not necessarily mean you can hoard or sell the thing. We had expiring crates long ago (i still have some expired ones somewhere), so it’s also not like expiry date can’t be set on an item in your inventory, and we do have account bound items in inventory that can’t be traded (air boosters come to mind, although there is a way to trade them around, that is intentional by ccp). Hoarding can be prevented without extra screens, that’s my point.
Speaking of redeem experience, right off the bat we have redeem for nes, redeem for air, redeem for goals or whatever where the daily stuff is, then there is some different achievent screen with yet another redeems… It’s just objectively a mess on level of gacha gameplay at the moment.. You can ignore that mess since most of the rewards are inconsequential in 2026, but it does not make it better UI.
As for removing the dailies, I would fully agree. It was a big thing and big drama when they added them in 2015 or wherever that was, pretty much fomo bot 9000.. From what I see after my coma now, is that the rewards are way more tame so you can actually mute the thing and don’t care, but again, that does not make it good UI. I suppose CCP acknowledged at least some of it, since air is merging with the other “daily” screen XD
