It's time to connect Eva Online with REALITY!

For too long, Eve was just a game. Maybe for some it is national pride, but it is still a game! And it would be nice to make an ADDITIONAL SPACE EXPLORATION TOOL out of it !! (in other words, “Connect the game with reality”)…
.
Take note! ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF CONSERVATION OF ENERGY, a gamer spends the same amount of energy as a UAV pilot spends.

But!
… the UAV pilot knows what he is controlling. But the gamer is not.
But the energy doesn’t go away! If there is action, then there is a result!! This result is simply NOT visible. Because what the gamer controls is FAR IN SPACE!! And it looks a bit like an asteroid))
.
Are the EVE developers ready to make the game something that can be called “The Transition of Humanity from the Industrial Age to the Space Age,” or will it remain a game that will become NOT interesting to play over time!?

I have talked to some really strange and exotic people in game and here on forums, but this is easy my top 10.

Anyone want to simplify what OP means here?

A really expensive Project Discovery, where your ship is actually a drone in our IRL space?

Thanks for the compliment)) the top 10 strange people in the Eve universe is at least a TITLE!
.
Unfortunately, not all abbreviations are clear to me, could you explain to me what “OP” means?

That’s what I was talking about! At the moment, Eva’s universe is a closed space isolated from reality.
(somewhere on the server’s hard drive)
The only thing the player controls is the numerical values.
… and I propose to start managing SPACE OBJECTS (of natural origin) within OUR SOLAR SYSTEM. But for this, EVE Online developers will need to create a separate test server.
.
I’ll do it anyway! And it doesn’t matter with whom.
.
And, if my theory turns out to be correct and asteroids can be controlled remotely… I won’t be severely punished for a downed communications satellite, or a damaged international space station))…!?
.
I can’t tell you everything! There is something that will forever remain a secret…
NOW ATTENTION!! A very strange question:
… do I have to report my actions to NASA? Or should NASA provide me with the coordinates of objects (stations, satellites) that cannot be touched?

OP = Original Poster

In forums that are threaded like this we reference to the first post as the main center of discussion.

… I already played Eve… about 10 years ago. And I’m a little tired of her. Now I went into it again… and saw that NOTHING CHANGED in it!!
… this is a VERY BAD SIGN!!.. the game is dying. I am more than sure that the number of players present on the server is ARTIFICIALLY exaggerated many times over. In fact, there are much fewer of them… it’s just that the developers are embarrassed to admit that there are very few people left who are interested in Eve.

Look at the community that you are pitching this idea to. I see PvP ruining a lot of very, very expensive equipment very, very quickly.

I’m suggesting to the developers, not the community. But the community still does not understand the essence of this idea.
The idea is to control something REAL in space, rather than numeric values on the server.

I admire the passion.

And as per your posts above this will magically fix EVE’s (supposedly) dead playerbase?

If you go to the official website https://www.ccpgames.com/ and read the essence of their mission, then I, as an EXPERIENCED person, will have several questions for the owners:

  1. Do you really think that the VIRTUAL world can be more important than the REAL world!? The phrase is beautiful, but behind this beauty there is a “fraudulent scheme”. Nothing new. Other game creators have the same thing)). But!! You have a chance to create something REAL!!

Eve is a very old game! Good, but old. It’s like an old car… it was good once, but the requirements for games are already very high.
… the sensations that a person gets from watching the trailer are much stronger than the sensations that he gets from the game itself. The secret to “NO FEELING” (while playing) is that the player actually DOESN’T CONTROL ANYTHING!! (on the monitor screen there is a spaceship, but in reality these are numerical values of some file)… in other words… the player does NOT control REAL OBJECTS, that’s why there are no sensations.
.
I suggest the EVE developers work on a new game engine! This will fix the FEELING problem while playing. And at the same time, it will “REVIVE” players’ interest in EVE.
.
And perhaps in the future this “modified EVE engine” will become the standard for all space simulators. Same standard as Euro 5 for cars now.
.
… especially since CCP (I jokingly call it the Chinese Communist Party) has a need for engine programmers! Software Engineer - 50skills
But there are different engines! In the automotive industry (piston, rotary, electric)… and in the gaming industry… THERE ARE DIFFERENT SAME!!

It would be cool to have something beyond pixels. I understand. Rumor has it CCP is doing stuff with crypto so pretty much the opposite of what you want.

Yes! I read in job postings that they are developing a NEW (multi-platform) game engine. And I am more than confident that he will be able to carry out transactions with cryptocurrency. I hope that it will NOT be Bitcoins, but good old ISKs))

well, maybe… Plex))… but it must be something real, like a “trusted encryption module”… similar to a key, without which the spaceship will NOT take off!

So that you can ACCUMULATE ISKs on it

This is like those USB account authenticators that World of Warcraft use to have. Kind of a pain.

But this is the future! The person who plays the game… he spends his life on this game! But life is worth something. Therefore, in the new game engine it is necessary to provide COMPENSATION FOR DISAPPOINTMENT and REFUND))
Eve has always been famous for HER ECONOMY!! She is very complex. Almost the “second economy in the world”, after the American one. And in the new engine it will become EVEN more difficult!!

I’ll explain with an example! I ported 2500 hours to Rust! + 400 on the previous account, + 400 on the staging branch… and I was DISAPPOINTED in the game! Or rather, its developers.
… no one is going to compensate me for my time spent! And it is because of this that they start having problems (with new versions of the game client)… I won’t tell you how and why… for a long time. I’ll say it briefly! THE LAW OF CONSERVATION OF ENERGY - you can’t fool it!
… therefore, if the developers of EVE want to eliminate this problem, then in the new game engine they ABSOLUTELY need to create an AUTOMATIC PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION TO DISAPPOINTED PLAYERS!

And this compensation could be PLEX, which can be sold to the CCP itself (at some price), or to players who are willing to pay more.

Wow has this thread ever been a rollercoaster from A to B. Not sure that OP even knows what hes on about anymore
