This is why I’ve been advocating for months now to my corpmates and fleetmates that perhaps CCP should just make armor slaves AND shield slaves not work on capital or supercapital ships.
Let the subcap pilots use both sets of implants, don’t nerf shield regen, don’t pre-nerf the shield slaves… just shut off all buffer implants for caps and supercaps (yes, the armor one in the hardwirings, too, then).
Didn’t the Drake once have a better passive/resist shield tank than most Ravens?
If a Wyvern can be tankier than a Levi, that’s just the supercapital version of that old Drake/Raven sitch.
OR, as I said above, just don’t let armor/shield slaves work on capital and supercapital hulls, boom… fixed. The super tanky Rattlesnake someone just mentioned above is a FEATURE, not a bug.
Because most people use the top of their overview, not the bottom, and lots of people were probably complaining that broadcasted targets were down at the bottom. It’s particularly a problem in say a PVE fleet when a DPS ship broadcasts for reps and that drops him down to the bottom of the overview.
Yes, the logi should have logi broadcasts on and be able to lock from that or from the watchlist if they don’t have the dude locked already. But what if another DPS wants to lock his fleetmate up to apply RR or logi bots to them? Personally, I usually do that from the overview (ctrl-click a purple dude who needs help while also locking a bunch of rats), but before this chance, he’d be down below 40 lines (off the page) of my overview instead of the top. IOW, the broadcast was counter to purpose in that case.
Anyway, enough people, like me, didn’t like the way it used to work with reverse icon sort on the overview (my default overview sort, though I change to distance or reverse distance as needed, occasional name or ship type sort as well in PVP fleets), so they finally changed it. Now, someone like you who uses the overview in a very innovative and different way… is in our former shoes.
Clearly the best option is to have a toggle. There IS an old toggle (the “move broadcasted ship to top of overview” that was for both fleetmates AND for enemy player or NPC ships, IIRC)… it just wasn’t working correctly with reverse icon (or reverse anything, probably) sort… maybe now that toggle works? try it. it’s in overview settings, can’t remember where exactly, not in game and it’s been years since I checked that on all 3 mains.
So either they add a warp disrupting subcap drone to the game or keep nerfing the Sirens, I guess. Ugh. Both options… have their issues, let’s just say. How about no more nerfing the Sirens and just nerf the NSA more.
I haven’t seen that yet. Wife and I are holding out on Disney+ but… it’s gonna be rough. Sooner or later, we’re gonna wanna see something on that damned thing. Thanks, Disney!™
MTE.
The entire change from armor slaves to amulets was so Sansha (Shield) Slaves could be added to game… and now? Nirvana? WTF?
Because subcaps are more fun than caps (from what I hear from most peops, I’ve never flown a cap and don’t really want to*), and there’s more to this game than nullsec… such as WH, LS, HS space?
I was on a subcap fleet last weekend that killed… what was it, 1 dread and 1 carrier while a titan (and later a supercarrier) tried to kill us with very little to no subcap support besides the Arazu cyno. And then another subcap fleet where we killed 1 dread and 3 carriers all from one salty dude who was pissed we killed 1 Leshak and 1 Loki from his 3x Leshak 1x Loki box fleet and started camping a gate with his 4 caps.
This game is still FUN, people. Stop thinking in capitals only.
(* - okay, I might make an exception for that Trig Dread… once I have time to skill into that and once it’s not super crazy priced due to it only being in the game for ~2 months like right now… DAMNIT, CCP! ;D)
Now that IS true. In the first engagement I mentioned above my other toon’s Dominix died after MJDing out in half-hull (got trapped on the other side of a gate from the rest of my fleet, was just a moment too late warping where FC said to warp and our sabre had apparently defensively bubbled the out-gate, whooops for me and another BS or two) because a siren caught up (with MWD still, I guess? not AB?) to her Domi and pinned her down during the 3 minute MJD timer (oh, for a marauder at that moment…).
But as I said, that fleet had little to no subcap support, they were mostly using sirens as tackle. Perhaps ONLY Sirens shouldn’t be relied upon as tackle. And if it can be, perhaps that’s something else that needs looking at.
In the second engagement, my other 2 toons (this one and another) were flying ishkurs and one of those 3 multiboxed carriers nearly killed my frigate crashing back to gate. why? because of the NSA. NSA wayyyy too OP, IMO. A 1 minute weapon timer is nowhere near enough “balance”. They should be able to lock BS and BC quickly, maybe cruiser too… but caps locking frigs and dessies faster than my ceptor can lock something? COME. ON. The dread took 20 seconds to lock anything in that fleet, the carriers were like instalocking svipuls by comparison. Poor dread pilots, even with HAW.
I am pretty certain that this was not the case. Broadcasts would appear at the top of whatever sorting order you used. That means either at the bottom if you used up>down or at the top if you used down>up. I used that option you mentioned a paragraph later and I am pretty sure things appeared where they were supposed to.
What I am saying is there’s a lot of people like me who use reverse icon sort, which means we want fleetmates, then NPCs, then everything else below (which is how it works when you use reverse icon sort)… but we don’t want the broadcasted targets to be at the bottom when we have the “make broadcasts be at the top” box checked. IOW, just because you use a reverse sort on a column of the overview doesn’t mean you want to use the bottom of the overview at that point, most of us (I believe) still use the top of the overview (most of the time) no matter whether we forward OR reverse sort any given column.
So I’m guessing (as I don’t know for sure, but when I saw that part of the patch notes, my guess was) that there were enough people like me (either players or maybe also CCPers themselves) who had the same feeling as me, and so they’ve made those broadcasts appear at the top no matter what (whether you have A-Z or Z-A, IOW).
Probably. It would just be nice if the game knew that TOP can also mean bottom because top is the end of the sorting order and not the top of the window. Or, as you said, another toggle to have your or my preferred behavior. One can dream.
Just needs more toggles. The existing checkbox is good, they can add one or two more lines below that with other toggles so that all possible behaviors are possible on overviews when broadcasts come in.
Blueprint locking-unlocking for 1000+ prints through votes is poo poo, it seriously needs a means to lock a container through voting that locks all its contents.
And a way to allow people to start a ship build, but not cancel builds or steal the inputs/outputs…
I think these new sites a little bit too hard. I couldn’t break them with a 1100 dps battleship ^^
Oh and obviously the 4 npc ships broke my tank, neuted and killed me ^^
I think it’s fair if your “cormorants” copy player stats, but you shouldn’t buff them to the level of incursion rats…
I have now lost 1 battlecruiser and 3 battleships trying to do this. It’s impossible unless you are in a battleship group or a huge gang. That’s a bit harsh for lowsec, where 40 man blobbs roam around.
This seems like an all around indirect buff for the cyclone, I can already picture pilots using the new redesigned Compact X-large SBs even on cruisers.
Shield caps lose all their resistances if they get neuted since their invulns all turn off.
Armor caps still maintain resists no matter what their cap since their best armor mods are all passive.
unfortunately this applies only to ganking solo supers. In current FAX meta and supercapital engagments neuts don’t really work, only pure ehp matters when firing DDs at each other.
Lol, you mean they will try it out even if a trained monkey could look at the numbers and see how unbalanced it is, then try to nerf it 2 years after it is necessary and cause more problems because it’s integrated into everything by that point.
Give them some slack, they’re a small indie company and it’s only been 5 years.
So yesterday we had a disagreement with some unwanted guests and I was flying a fax for the first time on Tranquility.
So being in pvp mode, I switched off the fleet members by default and only reacted to broadcasts in the fleet history.
All my special watchlisters made it, even thought I learned about how not fun void bombs are.
I do that since the day I started. But I do get the complaints. I would be complaining too but I have OCD and every pixel that moves is a bad thing because it used to be over there just yesterday.
Please give us the option to remove the pop up training window when hovering over BP copies. The pop up showing number of runs available is great, but the training window added to it makes it as big as the window i am scrolling down to sell. Im constantly having to go off the window to remove it and return further up to start scrolling again.
