Just a quick take, does the overall economy of EVE feel like there’s a few trade hubs and everyone does their shopping there, thus ignoring their regional economy? I’m thinking maybe the regional economies are stagnant because EVE has become one big super region.
After pochven killed the short route from Jita → Amarr it solidified the power of Jita (although jita has been the defacto hub for many many years).
Major nullblocks all use Jita prices as their gauge for local markets, if you want something the cheapest you always go to Jita. If you’re too lazy, you pay a markup somewhere closer to you.
The hubs used to be Jita, Amarr, Rens, Dodixie as "primary"ish hubs, with Jita being A tier, Amarr B tier, and the other two C tier… with some D tier places like Hek or Oursulaert, etc…
Based on what I saw in Hek today, I’m not convinced that’s held up.
Dodixie and Amarr are still decent trade hubs, but I really wish they would get unique stations like Jita did.
That’s what I figured. Even the other trade hubs have declined a bit and now Jita is the go-to place for eveyone’s shopping. Of course that’s been the case for awhile, but I’m trying to see if I can get things going away from Jita and get some regional markets going again.
I think the global market is still too fragmented, would be nice to have a set of Skills to see prices globally as well as buy &sell and place orders across regions.
The delivery aspect (i.e… gate-camps, jumps) of the fragmentation makes the game interesting and should remain from my point of view.
