Ganking is simply pvp in highsec, yes? Whether both involved want to be or not, it’s still fair in that you can see local and you can see your overview, so you can make the choice not to remain there to be killed.
The situation i found myself in deals specifically with using EVE server lag to accomplish a theft.

Some 5% of a population would be expected to commit 50% of all crimes. The rest are opportunists … such as when they encounter a local environment that gives them the opportunity to cheat, steal or bully (for gain), then they often do. Just like EvE.
The OP’s claim that prisons are full of people that act like EvE players is probably correct. However, there is no evidence of any link between doing those opportunistic things in EvE and then also doing them in RL.
If you think killing people is opportunistic then you live in a much less stable / safe environment than me. You might be correct, but I do not think that killing (in game or RL) and opportunistic acts are equivalent or therefore comparable.

If youre just posting that this is a broken mechanic, you should post in the right section of the EVE forums. There is a specific part of the forums that discusses game mechanics.
While those articles claim video games lead to the increased violent tendencies, they do not address how many video game players are already mentally ill.
You kind of have to have some sort of mental illness to spend your whole life on a video game. Even I am guilty of this in the last couple years. Of course, I have ptsd from a lifetime of corrections, but i’m sure that’ll be mocked and trivialized too.
My point was that Sahaqiel has constantly made a connection to real life and that of our in-game personas. This is what i was laughing at.
This entire thread is Sahaqiel claiming that us doing this in EVE means that we are also just as bad and doing it in Real life.

If youre going to change the question, then whats your logic that direct trade scams are a broken game mechanic? Server ticks is a known part of the game, and a lot of different mechanics rely on server ticks to work.
