I don’t know. In the situation you describe, even if my friends avenge me, I still don’t like losing. And in case of suicide gank, you got avenged by npcs and their ships are cheap. So why should you be happy about CONCORD avenging you? Suicide ganking takes the fact that you lose your ship into consideration and usually gankers will scoop remains of their ships with back with looting alt.
I mean, OP lost 2bil ship, how is the fact that the gankers lost 12x15mil to NPCs any calming?

The gankers actually had about 15-20 ships there. Probably some picked up their loot.
They were well organized and have 203 members in their corp.
As I said earlier, running PVE content in the general area of Jita just increases risk by a large amount. If you move to a quieter region you will not only lower gank risk, but have fewer people trying to run conduits.
Second, go live in a wormhole for awhile. It does wonders in giving you the paranoid defensive techniques that work well in all parts of EVE.
now being back in empire space, I dscan all the time even if I’m in missions or other content. Doing so if I see a group of catalysts on short scan I’m out before they land.
I really didn’t think I would be ganked in a BS in high sec. But I’ll keep those tips in mind next time. Thx.

In null sec they left with entire fleet intact. In high sec they know, they will not. And everyone knows he will not. Unless wardec etc…
I live primarily in high sec and I am undocked most of the days in the week. Yet to get ganked. I know it will happen one day, but right now, after almost 8 years, I was not killed in high sec once, unless in faction warfare by legid war enemy. I do not count forgoten MTU.
Funny stuff happen, when ganker tryed to kill my wreathe but fat fingered. I escaped, concord killed him. We both have had a really nice chat after that.
Do not AFK, use MWD/cloak, read the map and do not let yourself get provoked. Avoid systems ‘with 10 red catalysts inside’. It is not that hard to survive in high sec, really. There is even a chat channels with intel about gankers. With hundreds of players inside, and they work.
You’ll also find Check before you jump useful for avoiding gatecamps.
How is what you wrote any relevant to what you quoted? Yes you are right about living in high and getting ganked, but that is not what I was replying to.

Why should a “wowkid” with daddy’s credit card have the power to fight off a coordinated fleet with a specific ship doctrine to deliver massive damage onto an individual target.?
My opinion is that a well-planned assault with twenty pilots should always be able to slay a solo ship no matter what “bling” it has.
