Yes have no worries about it you will die more or less depending on what you do and how you do it, but also worry not this is all part of the game, learn from it and carry on, this is EVE.
Just always remember this is a game and try not taking offense in what is happening then you’ll be fine no matter what, it is a journey and both good and “bad” are part of your personal story.

Oh no worries. I won’t lose my mind if I am blown to pieces or podded. As you put it, it is just a game, and EVE’s PvP game mechanic is working perfectly.
The ganker will get a cheerful “good kill” or “nice shot” from me when that happens, and I’ll mean it too.
