Karybdis Tyrannos

Hello guys. I believe you will help to me. I lost about 8 gilas on waves with Karybdis Tyrannos ( all my gilas) in T4/T5 and 0 gilas on other waves…My gila spawns in 58km away from him, MWD gives 500% to sig so he never miss, and afterburner too slow and if I have SCYLLAs with neutrs/webs…HOW TO SURVIVE?
Please, I need your advice.

2 fits which I use.

Tier 4

Tier 4/5

Just he spawns in 60km…I don’t know how to make him miss…

You do need to switch to AB. Overheat it if need to burn to the gate for example. Make sure you choose an AB that takes less overheat damage or has more structure to do so. Carry nanite paste and use it as you burn towards gate at the end.

If you need more raw velocity try booster + implant.

Replace your Hiiva with a 3rd drone amp or a DCU. DCU will give you a bit of extra shield volume, extra cap and little bit of additional shield per second.

Forget the missile DPS, the missles are ok by themselves as is.Switch drones for different targets. Valkyries for frigates, hammerheads for raw DPS. In addition, many of those NPCs are vulnreable to kinetic. Only use infiltrators (EM damage in general) if you’re running in electrical storm.

Try it out in a cheap fit 1st then if you get close go for a good one. Don’t run double invuln. Try some resist amplifiers instead of the cap booster + double invuln.

Switch from Republic fleet to Thukker Large Cap battery. Dont use capacitor control rigs, the volume ones actually give you more cap regen cause it increases by itself when your cap volume goes up.

For your rigs stick at least 1 solidifier in tehre so you get better HPS (Hitpoints per second) of off your shield booster. I am comfortable at around 120-140 HPS total. Thats my booster fit + implants + shield passive regen together. And its still stable.

Also, might try the drone velocity rig and different drones then jsut plain T2s. Once you get your fit runnign plug them in and check their individual tracking, DPS, etc. in the simulator. You need at least 1 flight of drones with high velocity and high tracking and 1 for heavy DPS. The velocity rig makes a good difference.

I forgot to add, I took a look at your pod on that blinged fit, you don’t have any skill implants on it, get the shield and cap ones, then stick whatever else looks good to you in remaining slots, if you don’t want to spend a lot get at least the 3-4% ones, the bonusses stack with crystals and help.

I really hate him, he is the worst threat in abyss. When with additional Scyllas spawn (neuts), very dangerous. What is his range btw?

65km optimal

mwd is perfect for all waves without him…so I will switch to mwd…but I will be very slow

Thats because your fits are ■■■■. For t5 forget about AB and passive tank, you need MWD, active tank so you can take advantage of implants/boosters and t2 RLML. You can fit and be relatively stable without cap boosters. For Karybdis spawn if there are neuts I kite while killing those, then approach him while using the rest of loaded missiles and drones to clear other targets, after reload all dmg to him, should be dead with 1 magazine unless you are in shield site. If there are no neuts i just slingshot around the cruisers and go for him first while tanking the whole room. The room should take less than 4 minutes.

but one question…and he always miss? MWD give +500% signature penalty…he never misses…

My gila with AB must get down to >10km orbit, then he starts to miss. On the other hand if he had tracking bonus…

2 days ago I had drone BS spawn in blue cloud, got me into 25% structure before I closed to him and start to orbit at 2500m before he started to miss - my sig was 900m

if you have web ships on-grid then you also approach karybdis or how to survive if there are a lot of web-ships/cruisers? Problem is not neutrs…webs

For your first couple of runs I would of course advise to kite and kill the dangerous cruisers and leave th BS for last. He will regen more shields and be at the enge so you have to go back to the gate at the end. My strat is faster, because once he is dead you can pull the cruisers to the gate, loot the box and whatever. You will learn that blinged gila with full crystals and standard blue pill can tank the room even w/o OH.

Basically deal with his support first, finish him later.

If your Transversal is good enough you can outreach him with MWD , or just try to stay out of his range and kill the support first

a tracking disrupter is very effective against the drifter and drone battleships
