With the latest update today, the prefs got wiped from disk. As this is not the first time, a final solution to prevent it, would be nice.

This is your final solution. Backup the settings folder(s) in your CCP appdata folder into a 7z/zip/whatever archive and do it regularly. No worrying again about wiped settings.
