Yeah didn’t seem like a couple images and some related links (or even scripts) would take up that much (though with CCP’s track record can’t say it is entirely impossible either) so as I wrote just a funny idea that passed my mind, thought I share it for a bit of giggles.

As you can see that strange 162+ MiB Download happened again and was immediately followed with the 1.63 GiB Download…

Not everything is in the patch notes tbh there have been some stuff that they didnt bother typing out.
And that is the problem. I mean, I don’t need every minute detail in the patch notes that was changed and reverted and then changed again, but if they push a patch to the server, I want to see at least SOMETHING in the patch notes.
On the other hand, other game developers release very detailed patch notes for every patch they launch. I don’t see a reason why CCP shouldn’t do that as well. Especially, since the theorycrafters, who CCP wants to keep in the dark, already use Hoboleaks or their own tools anyway and CCP is only annoying the normal people with this dumb information obscurity.

One of the joys of Eve is the stuff they don’t tell you - the things in New Eden that are just there to discover. Places, events, interactions.

Yea I would hate for CCP to just tell us all the secret’s, if they tell us on the other hand that there is still 10 secrets no player has discovered yet that’s a different story. That would be like them telling us that the One Piece is real and it would get us all excited.

Seems everybody has different amounts of Data downloaded to their Launchers… Maybe it’s due to Launcher settings or each person’s individual computer stats.
I don’t know what it is but I definitely don’t like it.

So, 9 out of the past 15 days has had a Launcher Download and only 2 of those days gave a reason for the the download…

That is easily 1 or 2Gb a week. Can we hope that what’s being downloaded replaces existing code or does it accumulate?
If it accumulates I’m uninstalling the game once/if it passed 60Gb. I like EVE but I also need room for other games/movies knowing that each one takes at least 1Gb and my drive is 500Gb with 360Gb left.
And no, I’m not upgrading to a larger drive so no need to suggest that.

Maybe you can DOWNgrade to a 1 TB drive instead. 
I have no idea what it’s doing and I agree with you, definitely don’t like the idea of my computer hard drive getting filled up from Eve, already had that happen on an older computer about 10 years ago…
Just checked and my current computer, which is less than a year old, has 16% used of 1 TB Hard Drive. Guess I’ll have to keep an eye on it…

I just did after posting, lol. So far there’s 26Gb reserved for EVE so that’s plenty okay.
And that’s the most troubling part. As far as I know our PCs are still ours and an online game should publish anything their server downloads into it. The fact that there is no patch notes on those recurring 260Mb a day doesn’t help to ease my mind or suspicions. If there is no foul play and no patch notes then it is a very poor and unprofessional handling of data at best.
You have plenty of space yet it’s no reason not to be interested in what an online game downloads on your system.
If CCP doesn’t bother with important stuff like patch notes what else aren’t they bothering about, security, customer service…?
I did that 24yrs ago.

Notice that in the launcher, if you go to tools, there is a button to get rid of old files. I do that and do a file check every time there’s an update.
