Really? This is what I wasted the better part of a weekend watching the FanFest presentations for? I predicted this would be the outcome the day of the announcement. Oh look, let’s see what’s available for me in the new Freelance Projects…
For those unfamiliar with Tama, it’s one of the entry low-sec systems for Factional Warfare from Caldari space and gate-camped near 24/7.

It wasn’t camped 24/7 for some time now because no one goes there. You could actually get in from Nourv just fine at some times of the day. Now it will be back at 24/7 camps. I can’t wait for the Rancer Freelance Exploitations (although I guess they won’t be as good because the system is too far away from Jita).

Where there’s a desire to gank, there’s a way… Freelance just made it a tad easier to find unsuspecting victims and have them served up on a platter…

It seems like the big problem is that CCP hypes their features and raises expectations and ultimately fails to live up to them. If this was just implemented without CCP hyping it up there wouldnt be such an outcry over it.
For example i was invited to participate in a gate camp on my alt when i came a cross one. And it was a genuine invitation. My point is that who knows what “newbros” going into Tama would lead to.
This particular feature is DOA. I can’t see how it adds anything of value in it’s current iteration. Same with the new map. Maybe in 6-12 months we’ll see a silver lining, but to call Legion an “expansion” is really a joke.
It’s basically a rebalance patch with 2 new ships, some new artwork (16 redesigned cruisers, hull fires and firefighting BOBs - unless the latter didn’t make it in) and some very alpha features.
Some time ago there was a thread along the lines of “Knowing what you do now, what would you tell yourself as you started playing EVE?”.
For many of us, the answer would be “Don’t believe the hype”.
These days I just shake my head when I see CCP propaganda, like the recent “Legends” blog on Fanfest where they self-declare their accomplishments “prove” that “the Future of EVE is in excellent hands”.
Rather than “The Future of EVE: Where Legends Begin”, a less self-indulgent title might have been “The Future of EVE: Where the Same Ten Managers Who’ve Been Killing EVE for Years Congratulate Themselves on A Job Well Done. Hurrah for Us!”
Well, it’s a bit sad compared to great expansions of the past, but that’s where CCP is at these days - database tweaking and the occasional bit of new code disguised as a major update. With any luck, maybe they’ll be embarassed by their own hype and iterate on it to make it something useful.

@Arthur_Aihaken Indeed. I noticed a whole heap of new player traps in Freelance Projects - you missed the one inviting players to mine Kernite in Ahbazon

Ugh, wow, I just logged in to check the update and… that music.
I’m not much of a music critic because pretty much anything works as background music. But that character screen/login music is just a jangly, discordant mess.
It’s the first time in 20 years that EVE music has made me want to turn the sound off. (Which is at least credit to the music teams for the previous 20 years, I guess.) It’s like it doesn’t know from one moment to the next what direction it’s going.
Hmm. I guess maybe that’s not inappropriate for CCP. But it’s certainly no pleasure to listen to.

Remember that time we got a real expansion with PVP overhauls for nearly every ship in the game and multiple new PVP roles / Modules etc… Oh and the player base spiked around that time too!
Heh good times
Yea that was 13 years ago…
