I’m honestly trying to get you to think about it. Why would a life time subscription (which is just another way to say 20y sub) get a refund but a yearly sub not?
Why would ccp offer a discounted sub and then offer refunds if they changed things in the game? And especially when ccp don’t even provide sp refunds when they change things in game…

Lifetime sub should be $60, not more. CCP is selling PLEX already. Dedicated players already use PLEX to sub. In my case it was less than $60 I had to pay to start making enough ISK to basically have sub forever, by buying PLEX from market and using it to sub.
The PLEX would then go down in price in ISK, it would be maybe even around 300M. Like in 2010.
Of course game would need rebalance with such change, so people couldnt make so much ISK as now.

Oh look, another person who doesn’t understand how PLEX sales work. You paid for the game with ISK, but only because someone else paid for that PLEX with cash at a rate that is even higher than the normal $15/month. The existence of PLEX does not reduce the total number of subscription sales CCP generates, it just changes which players are buying them.

Oh **** no. The only thing better than plex being at its current price would be PLEX going up to 100 billion ISK. As someone who has lots of cash but limited free time high PLEX prices are great for me.

If you decrease prices and decrease income then the net change is zero and your idea is pointless.
The balancing would be needed to compensate for people who will not use PLEX to sub in longer timespan. But it would be very risky and needs different models being taken into account. I dont think CCP will resign from current model. Just wanted to explain what that lifetime sub would mean for a game on that one example.
The one important factor why people buy PLEX on market would be gone, so prices would be lower as demand would be smaller.
Then with balancing, the income in ISK for a player being smaller, will make people want to use PLEX more, to sell for ISK. The PLEX would have to be with current price in $.
The important part is that taxes and skills, and blueprint costs, and ships producing costs in structures, all the game isk sinks will put pressure on players.
Then CCP would have to add also jiggle physics to breasts, and add WiS. Then PA will have BDO 2 but in space.

Thing is to price it accordingly. So they would buy it, then making them buy PLEX anyway.
2600 is a pretty fair price, is it not? 1 year is slightly over $130, so $2600 is roughly the amount for 20 years, with a very slight discount.
Either way, someone playing for 20 years would have to pay this much but you get a slight discount and more if you decide to play for even longer
The game was not even so long on the market and it already runed for extraordinary amount of time. Why would anyone pay so much?
I would be surprised if CCP doesn’t eventually do this - there are a bunch of whales that would pony up a few thousand dollars on a whim. CCP will figure out new ways to get the money from the lifetime members, though.
Think of it as a long term investment.

well we are already at the 16-ish year point now. there are plenty of people that are still here right from the beginning.
That’s a horrible idea for a game that aims to last until a solar flare kicks us back into the 1900s. Or a meteor hits earth, causing a global winter. Or the russian nuclear arsenal going off all at once thanks to their mind boggingly stupid mechanic causing a huge rip going from origin through germany all the way towards switzerland with the earth shaking for a whole day because the planet got pushed out of its axis.
Or Trump sits on the Big Red Button by mistake (it’s not just the Russians who are a danger).
Except the part where the game is ~3 years and a month away from being 20 years old already, I think it is premature to be writing an epitaph
