Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

…what ban wave?

When working with security, you have to consider value, risk and investment to calculate it’s feasibility.

But you can only work on security when there is chance for safety. BO reduces the chance for safety to pretty much zero, unless the Neanderthals tell you that it is because you don’t have many friends or you don’t know EVE or how to play it, you believe them and die.

I think BO was disproportionate because in conjunction with other mechanics, renders PVE impossible unless you donutbrella.

I tried to see if you guys come to the same conclusion that due to such disproportion, cyno nerf was thrown on the table and therefore a patch over BO will be implemented but there is no quorum for such conversation here.

No one would care about local if there was a chance, a single one that excluded luck as percentage greater than 60 so you could make PVE feasible. So, IF there was a 60% chances of survival, it could be feasible but at present, man you have to be lucky as hell not to die in a sitting duck.

No one is going to take that risk, except for Neanderthals and donutbrellas.

But you have to believe in what people say. It’s the only channel you truly have. And if there’s contradiction, misinformation or confusion, maybe you have to name a single PR voice. If you hear Falcon say something, then Rise says otherwise, there is no chaos. It just unveils problems and you cannot think people will be stupid indefinitely.

This weekend, we had comms bugged again. No one seems to care enough in CCP to come out and mention what’s going on (AFAIK) which is ok somehow.
I mean, why would the company say what’s happening if no one out here demands to know, if no one has a way to protest or if 12.7k posts mean nothing to the company.

It’s our fault that there is no creative proposals for CHAOS, that there is no information, that there is no direction to protest.

But it is our right to say it publicly and just downgrade the cash flow until our employees get to work in favor of their customers.

Be sure to go out there, forget the Neanderthals opinions, and say what you think without insults and not getting personal. Ignore the response.

Just go ahead and say it. I assure you they are listening but waiting until the jar gets filled and only you can fill it up to the point of no stupid excuses.

Rat in a fleet.
Have a drop plan.

I’m not even noticing any indication that you or your 2-man corp have even been in nullsec, so congrats, I’m glad it’s not affecting your jita trading?

Only Jita scrubs agree this BO is a good thing.

When you start to extracting skill points from your 200 mil SP char to pay your monthly sub then you realize that something is complete wrong with this game! :frowning:

Hilmar saying he doesn’t like us owning too much stuff was a complete game changer for me. At this rate I hope CCP fails, and changes EVE to the point where it does not stand the test of time anymore.

If I should “f*** off back to high sec”, he can “f*** off back to making VR games”.

Next phase of chat blackout: Constellation chat was introduced this weekend. Implementation is still buggy but it works.

Yes it’s buggy! They must restore backup from let say 2014-2015 and everything will be fine…it’s so easy

not accepting to be a ‘sitting duck’, is not the same as being risk averse. Risk averse is someone not taking the risk when its >50% in his favour.

It’s unfortunate that Chat Roulette isn’t really available as a name.

Try leaving highsec/lowsec
Try something other than logging to for CCP sponsored whack a bot kills
Try playing the same game you are commenting on.

Not so easy - CCP don’t host the chat servers, that was handed over to a third party years ago.
I imagine the problems lie with CCP - That chat system was designed to operate in a certain way, the way CCP asked for it to be. Now they are trying to change it up and it is possible the current chat system just can’t do what CCP want it to.

For years we had a solid chat system and now CCP are playing with the settings it all of a sudden becomes buggy?

Buncha rubbish being posted as always. The past 48 hours or so:

Drop in to drone lands and get a great fight within 2 jumps Jag-v-belt ratting Arby (ends in a tense draw). Chased around by locals with Jag on fire.

Drop in Provi…hello Mr ice-miner bang bang and spend an enjoyable evening running around dodging the Provi locals…Sabre escapes looking like burnt toast.

Drop in Wicked Creek hello anom runners…bang bang Myrm…multiple targets in the system…sadly engaged but couldn’t hold an Ishtar.

Cross jump a Nag in a WH…decloak him snag and killed.

70+ minute running battle with losec Heydieles residents complete with kitchen sink free-for-all escalation to battleships…slightly let down by the appearance of a couple capitals but there you go.

Ninja huff gas.

I’ll even tip the cap to Delve Goons for being slightly entertaining earlier this week chasing a deadly 3-man gang of jag/2 Dessies with…a Rag and Hel? Warping to the dead-end gate no less…my oh my. Thanks for the chuckles as we probed out a WH and bailed. Yup…funny how those tac dessies are designed with that in mind…to probe/scout.

Anyway…just wanted to send positive vibes as the vocal minority would have the silent majority believe their ■■■■■■■■.

Hold the line CCP…keep up the great improvements.

You doing this on a different char?
This one doesn’t show any such activity - Just sayin.,.

Blackout killed my enthusiasm to play because it made it harder for me to at least make a decent amount of ISK in my limited free time due to the fact that it made subcap ratting riskier. I’m actually all for the cyno changes and the changes CCP were making for logi with diminishing returns. Hell, I’d love for there to be more Drifter attacks that mean you can’t just rat for hours in peace but instead have to fleet up to defend your space if it isn’t being used. Blackout just seemed like a shot in the dark that has some consequences that I personally don’t see any benefit from given the positives and the negatives the removal of auto local population has. The lack of players now in space and at least passively engaging in the game socially due to these changes are also something I’m kinda worried about.

I totally get that sometimes changes mean that the game isn’t for me anymore, but I guess the drop in player count and ratting means a lot of other people feel that way too. Which sucks, because I really like EVE. I just don’t like that some of the changes they made have an impact on people like me and newer players who don’t powergame and just want to shoot space submarines.

I’ll still be checking in on the game and trying to figure out alternatives to subcap ratting that mean I don’t have to be 100% paying attention to the game, but for now I and probably a decent number of other players have just checked out.

Hopefully the PCU starts rising again and there’s decent content and ISK faucets that people like me can take advantage of.

There’s exactly 1 highsec system you’ll see me in, Dital. I’ve been out here in providence since I came back for the blackout. I like the added risk prevents me falling asleep from boredom. Met a few cool people mining some moon chunks and got to understand that new system, and when I’m sitting in an Ikitursa I’ll do PVP again, though I do still prowl in my manticore, too many frigates about though.

Still doing my PI Daily, ratting. So I dunno about you but unless your on another server we do happen to be playing the same game.

Felt i had to ask as your killboard doesn’t reflect any of what you had said you’d been doing.

2 losses in highsec and 5 ganks during whack a bot doesn’t exactly total with what you said you’ve been doing

This is what led me to ask - You tell CCP to keep up the good work, yet show no indication of having experienced the “improvements”.

Again your killboard says otherwise.,.

You like others may have come back for the blackout but are not showing any indication of having experienced it…
We roam Provi just about every night - The ONLY thing we’ve seen lately was some poor schmuck in a Rorqual that died horribly.

My main only has 18 kills for the month - There just isn’t anyone around to fight.,. Blackout has been very successful and reducing the amount of pilots in space that used to be quite active - and not much else.,.

A person with virtually no killboard history and what little of kills he has are haulers and high sec things complains about people being risk-averse in null sec.

Oddly I am over 70 across all accounts ~60 on this guy alone the rest I imagine whoring from my logi alt.

People are being active you just have to look for them.

Do I have to turn that back on? I had a mail from Zkill when I came back about it being turned off something about API honest question not trying to be sarcastic. My board should be dead from 2016 till now since I took a break but before that I was active out here in my last alliance. These days I’m just going it alone.

And maybe it’s a time zone difference, there’s plenty around 7am when I get off work EST. Could be it hit later times harder.
