Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

They didn’t say anything about how they adapted. Maybe 90% of them moved to highsec doing activities that 1) don’t inject new isk into the economy 2) don’t generate taxes for alliances as a by-product of their cheating and 3) don’t inflate ADMs as a by-product of their cheating. If that’s the case I’d say it’s a big step forward, but only CCP knows.

If so, we should see mining and ratting in Highsec explode?

My sentiments exactly.

You mean like presidential interviews where the interviewer has a list of questions they “can” ask and other topics are off the table?

CCP Rise’s TiS sounded so scripted, I nearly felt sorry for those posing the questions.

And I always thought TiS was a safe place for players to get accurate information (from player perception) , not for CCP to spin their fiction.

and that is why the TiS guys need to get shut down. Someone needs to buy TiS and make it into a real entity and not a “kiss my behind” entity. As I wrote before, TiS-CCP equals to Fox News -Trump. They blow smoke up each other behind

Dont feel sorry for the TiS guys. They are probably getting something in exchange for their own stupidity

War is coming.

The funny thing about TiS is that looking at their staff, it is basically a bunch of Goons. Between Carneros, Dirk and MacCloud, that whole crew out there is a goons crew…

Matterall (NCdot) owns and runs it, and he would be extremely offended to hear you say that.

That wasn’t scripted. Matterall does go in after and clean up the audio quality (they use two different recordings to make sure there’s no lost audio due to latency, etc), and do a little post-production work, but it’s not scripted, and he doesn’t cut out content. Don’t get me wrong here, I know every one of those guys, and they’re not trying to suck up to anyone. But they’ve got a particular style, and CCP clearly thinks that style will let them say whatever they like.

It’s not an easy balance to strike, either. If you’re too aggressive, too harsh, you won’t get people coming back. When I interviewed Delegate Zero for INN, I certainly wasn’t looking to ‘nail’ him on anything… but DZ’s doing story. He’s got stuff he really loves to talk about, and he’s not at all hesitant to admit that story-wise, some groups got the spotlight more than others in recent years. It’s something he’s working on, but it’ll take a while to get more storylines ready, especially with other things (ie: trigs) having to be dealt with.

They’re not. They do what they do because they really do want to try to help get info out to the players.

Poor wording on my part i guess - I never thought it was scripted but it did in parts come across as if it was.

That right there, is what i was trying to convey.

You think we outnumbed that TEST gang? hahahahaha

Assuming you are referring to my comments on TiS, with all due respect to Matterall, if he gets “extremely offended” by my negative comments, he then might want to show he is not kissing CCP behind by actually being aggressive and not letting them get way with stupidity. And no one is talking about being harsh, but right now what TiS is doing is kissing CCP behind and not questioning anything.

And if you are referring to “TiS is basically a goons crew”, I am simply looking at the staff he is listing…

I have myself done interviews in the past with devs on behalf of my gaming community (SQUAD devs and Americas Army devs), so I understand well the balance that is needed in interviews with devs, however in TiS case there is no balance at all and no challenge to CCP. And if the TiS guys really want to try to help get info out to players, they may want to get more aggressive and stop cozying to CCP

And by the way, this is not to hijack the current thread, because TiS did interview CCP about the blackout

According to Zkill you did 36 test to 48 “Waffles and others” - Maybe they had more in their fleet, who didn’t engage you. Can only go by who shot who, who lost what and other information Zkill provides.

I liked the Blackout at the beginning, when I used to roam with my main. The sensation of being a hunter unreported by intel is awesome.

However, the days passed and a total of 10% chars are not loggin anymore. Other people have moved out from nullsec. Day by day, there are less people to kill in 0.0. Apart from bots, these people were pure nullsec PVE miners, industrialists and ratters. Nowadays, when I push F10 button, I’m feeling the universe in 0.0 is going to be empty soon.

So, what’s the solution for me, blackout or not?

Easy, both options at the same time.
I would put Blackout as permanent, but only in the systems where a Triglavian Invasion is running. In the other systems I would put the local just as it was before. With both options available I think everyone would be happy.

Yeah well, remove FRAT from our side. Then see what the numbers look like as I recal the waffles fleet was maybe 22 nerds…if that. It was a flash form because we found a rorq.

this is actually a good idea. And then the Triglavian Invasion could move between systems unannounced.

I thought that local comms were already back.

Huh? For real?

Carneros is a game developer. Dirk’s been all over nullsec. McCloud’s a producer—a specific set of skills that he’s very good at using. It’s not about their current affiliations, it’s about what they bring to the table.

No, the chat system broke. The people who were showing up in ‘local’? They were in some random system somewhere else.

I suspect someone is trying to re-start comms with a twist and the thing is coca-cola
