Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

Ah another summer child. Go back to Reddit trash.

Nope, will keep it and one day when the game gets shut down I will happily take it to the digital graveyard.

Salty tears run down my face…because i can´t stop laughing

Marky Macaroni, you´re so pissed…

saw you in my mind raging , when end of BO was told

He’s right.

Earlier this year, Guard (before he left) authorized Jin’taan to give out that same number: 75% of players never leave highsec. Most of them never engage with the forums, /r/eve, the CSM elections, or any other part of the community, too.

Yeah they caved to the at best 4% of crying sperglords and wormbears on Reddit. then they found out the true power in EVE, REAL power, the ability of people to not pay CCP for their product.

Cry harder please, your tears are making my morning coffee taste even sweeter.

IMO I think it was a good thing, NULL Sec is not supposed to be secure, not supposed to be safer then High sec.

In wormhole space this is a given, it’s 24/7 year-round local blackout. it is not that bad.

May be CCP could change this to a semi blackout whereas if a player enters a system it takes a moment to show them in the local. this would give time for that payer to passe the system unseen, let a group gank someone if they are fast enough to locate the target in the system. Say you get 1 munites until you show on local.

otherwise said if you don’t like losing ships then play something else or play in High sec.

CCP. You should not be writing like this.
I want to hear it from the LORE.
Make a SCOPE video explaining it.

Geez. Cheapskates.

Black out was the best thing ever, and good for the health of the game. Giving nullsec back local is a horrible decision- right up there with the industrial cyno. It doesn’t make sense that a region that has no Concord or anything else in it would have a local all by itself.

If nullsec wants a local, then they should have to build a module much like a jump bridge. Make it destroyable, very expensive and only cover a handful of systems…like a five system radius or something. It would require some strategy in terms of where best to place them, especially if they had a fuel requirement and also give enemies something to try and destroy. Content and explosions are better for the game then Nullbears farming without risk.

Who are you trying to convince?

Literally nobody in Nullsec was opposed to your suggested compromise. Local, not region or constellation chat, but system local is necessary to make life tolerable in nullsec. This even more so if you fly a subcap.

The best way was clearly to tie it to either the Ihub or some form of communications module/observatory that provides the local feature. Instead we got this brainfart of an implementation.

Blackout - this is the best thing that could happen to Eve in the last 10 years. Honestly, I was happy to play this 2 month. Cool game play. It is unfortunate that you canceled it. ((( In fact, locale chat is the wrong mechanics. Linking space communications to receiving data and information from space.
I really hope that you will return Blackout soon.

<3 Enjoy

To all Bots and farmers Isk’s - huge greetings.

Didn’t sound so temporary when Hilmar gave his kind advice to take drougs in order to deal with this game.

Yea you really needed data about this specific scenario really bad - how else would you have known that the reddit echo chamber is not all there is in EVE…

And what about all those bots in Highsec? Is making them move what you call ‘substantial impact’?
We all hate this sort of scum but you really need to come up with something that doesn’t hurt the player base in the process, even if it actually worked, wich it didn’t.

Yes, in the future make things more interesting instead of painful.
Give more options for creative counter play and put an end to the AFK-PVP-nonsense that is cloaky camping like you got rid of those dumb VNIs flying in circles with noone at the pilot seat.

The problem, and why blackout was cancelled, was that not many people came back for the easy kills after all.

Who knew that PvPers are a minority in EvE.

(Literally everyone.)

Looks like the only people who needed those stress medicines were the CCP accountants.

Let’s not forget, on that list, addressing the actual root causes of the stagnation in null: supercapitals.

And Falcon. Did you see the Berlin video?
