Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

Not only… have a look at WH’s recent debate… check WH manipulation and the advantages of giving players the chance of managing WH gates at will…

cough!.. sry

erm, yah well… sometimes you don’t even require to scan, since ice is marked differently for immediate intel in favor of…

Bleh! I better shut up.

Making the anoms green made it harder for hunters actually. See, with the anoms red, when people were in them they would feel safe as long as they didn’t see probes. So all I had to do was pre-probe the sites and then wait for them to fill with miners. I could then warp straight to them with no probes out and they wouldn’t try warping away until I landed and it was too late.

Now with the green sites and local, as soon as you hit local the miners/ratters run and so you have no opportunity to use strategy other than “AFK cloaking” for a week.

This track describes what I think of Eve online Kettenkarussell - Maybe

Why would people want to kill a ratter/miner?

I mean for starters, what did he do?

Wait, ah yep…

What did the rat/rock do to make the ratter/miner want to kill it?

Ppl assume as fact that a miner or ratter is supposed to be killed. That somehow game mechanics should favor to catch them by surprise, that it should be easier than just having:

  • Ceptors can be insta warp and nullified
  • WH’s gates can be jumped aggro
  • Regional gates with their fancy radius
  • Cynos
  • Greens or anomalies instead of signatures
  • The Blackout
  • The perma cloaks
  • Coverts
    Et - cetera

That’s what’s wrong with all related assumptions. That you expect a meta to be favored even more than it is already at the expense of an-other equally valuable but more demanding meta.

Not gonna happen.

You still want more? just so you can finally … kill ratters and miners?
I mean, really?

Tell you what… let’s ask CCP to make local warpable, so you can you know… click on anything on local list in null and warp to it right away…

Is that what you need?

Dude… to kill a miner or ratter?

You are pretty pkuckd up!

Think about it.

Hehe… nada… The only thing that separates rocks from miners and rats from ratters would be that we can post.

All of which are countered by instant local.

See a new name in a list? Warp to safety!

“More demanding meta” you’re talking about mining? PvE (mining with more steps)?
Exactly what is demanding about it?

And thats a problem bacause what?
Ganking a PVE ship has littel to do with PVP.
You stop people from making money, they will send some PVP ships for you eventually.

So the real problem seems to be that you’re actually just pretending to be looking for PVP content or you wouldn’t complain about visibility.

I don’t think you need an explanation of upgrades and what it takes to make any Null system worthy, do ya?
Or it’s involvement with SOV, right? I bet you know it all!
In contrast with fitting a PVP ship that can take a ratter or miner?

Maybe you think it takes less of effort or team work. If you do, say no more, the discussion with you is over.

The list is incomplete. Et-cetera means there is more.

Why do you think a miner or ratter should be killed easily?
Do you whine also when seeking for real PVP under same circumstances?

Or are thou just an-other PRO PVPer?

What else do you want in order to kill a PVE Hull?
Name one of the items in the list that doesn’t give an intruder the higher ground against a PVE hull. Name one single item from the list that was not implemented in favor of the incoming attacker against PVE.

NAME IT!

Then, you will be almost able to discuss with someone else.

You can’t or perhaps yeah, the regional gate radius… you win!

What you want is a cake.

The Blackout just gave scumbags a higher ground again, making them feel like it was the first time.

Why do you think a PVEr should be easier to kill than it is right now?

Because you are not good enough.

How do all Null PVE dies? How have PVErs been dying for years in Null?

Those killers are better than you. They did not need any extra-extras.

No, they just dock up and wait for me to leave. It’s a zero risk, minimal effort, yet effective way to deal with roaming solo or small gangs of pilots.

Current PvE ships are indeed not suited to PvP, they don’t have to be, just keep an eye on the local list and warp home to safety, 100% effective, no need to even think about countering an attack by a non-NPC.

Wait, wat?

So, you want them not to dock?
Why should they remain undocked and keep waiting for you to shoot them?

Don’t say what you want is a sitting duck… you can’t fall any lower.

so you’re causing billions of isk in damage just by sitting in local.
You’r killboard tells me exactly why you think ganking ratters should be easyer… Just stop crying and start to git gud - your opininon is based on lack of skill and therefore should not be considdered on how to design endgame content.

Nah, it introduced additional risk to PvE making the carebears wet the bed.

Well, isn’t that convenient! I didn’t counter everything you didn’t list so I must be wrong!

I want them to be harder to kill, but easier to actually engage. Fit some PvP mods, fight back! Now it’s just dock up and wait until the bad guys go away.

Do you work in a salt-mine? You’re due a promotion for how much raw salt you’re producing!

That sounds like so much fun! Just sit there! Top quality game play right there buddy!
