Or you can look at it as oh you came through a gate I am sure some system could have been easily in place Identifying the ships with a friend or foe signal.
It could. And that’s exactly the system CONCORD’s recently disabled due to stress on their logistics department, because it takes fuel.
Also: CONCORD owns those gates. They don’t care who your friends/foes are. Your gates? Those are controlled by ACL.
Please stop with the roleplaying…Concord=CCP
radar is soo 1940’s. Today we can track the move of single asteroids in the belt.
I just see that new structure looming on the horizon that will allow Corp entities to control there space in this way , lets see what that does for the PVP crowd
See the system was strained yes , but local groups having control over local will make things even more locked down then ever.
When we start talking about ‘you came through a gate, some IFF system could be in place’, at that point, game mechanics starts to blur into in-game concepts. CCP’s made it quite clear that their in-game reason for why this change went in is CONCORD’s logistical limitations. Therefore, we cannot talk about the mechanic of having the ‘gate’ identify transits without bringing in the in-game conditions around it.
We can, using technology developed in 1608, married to technology theorized in the 1860s.
Maybe. Maybe not. I have a hunch CCP wants to cause a lot more disruption before they’re gonna make any moves back toward re-fortification.
Not at all. They dont blur because Concord= CCP. Concord does what CCP tells its systems to do, and their supposed in-game reason is basically an excuse to be dumb. Using roleplay is justifying the stupidity of CCP.
They wont have a game by that point…
Well we will see where it goes , I have seen allot of good people leave the game some came back , 2 weeks of this now and no new info.
Still can’t figure out why people don’t like this. It helps combat botting and adds risk to what has otherwise been extremely safe activity. Check your d-scan. Put alts on the gates to look for gate fires. Use intel channels. ‘Lonely’ argument amuses me because most talking is from corp/alliance/other in-game channels outside of local. Local is honestly only used for GFs and ■■■■ talking ftmp.
This is a move toward the roots of EVE. Risk averse? That’s on you.
There were better ways to stop botting , they could have solved the problem years ago.
Well thats a shock.
You are suggesting a device that would make null even safer than before.
I really hope they don’t bring back easy mode for null. It is about time the risk was closer to equaling the reward.
Local is not a easy mode , maybe hunters should get better at hunting lol.
That structure was on their list years back.
If local is not easy mode, why are you complaining so much about its removal?
Null sec has never been safe
It has already been suggested highly that local Entities should take over there own locals will be a boom day when it happens.
Yes and the removal of local in Null has been suggested since the very beginning of the game, (Well 2006 at least)
It honestly does not hurt me at all I , but what it is doing is hurting allot of the smaller corps and new blood wanting to be in Nullsec, the type of prey most hunters thrive on , and will be driven out.
No just when a fleet is within a couple of jumps all the PvE players dock up. Unlike in Hi-sec where you cannot see the wolves for the sheep.
