Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

To add to your point, and I did post the same thing in the previous thread. This blackout is basically bringing us back to the days before Fozzy sov and basically makes the game take a 5 years step back…

oh so you think they are not there now that you can’t see them :eyes:

AFK cloakers are more psychological warfare than anything else.
now that you can’t see them the psychological effects of seeing a target in local is gone, for some

70% of players number can have many interpretations: characters, accounts, linked to a single player bulk of accounts. We dont know for sure. There could be many factors that will skew your conclusion, for example:

  • 99.9% of nullseccers have at least a Jita alt, right? Does CCP count them in those 70%?
  • New players that try the game and decide that it is not for them technically never leave HS as well. With a 4.09% retention rate.

HEY if you want to Rat , and Mine with relative safety in Null do it in systems covered by your home fleets, makes thing 10 times easier for you and 10 times harder for the would be Hunters, this note brought to you by the Interstellar Common Sense Board.

In future attempts to to stop drone botting , make all drone actions have to be active rather then passive, get rid of the easy prey and make the PVP crowd have what they want harder to find intelligent Anom runners and Miners.

If a player, the person at the keyboard, has a character on an account that leaves highsec, that player has left highsec.

70% of players never leave highsec. It’s really not open to interpretation.

You didn’t answer a few important things in your idea.
There are factors like

  • amount of players available (different times zones, real life etc.)
  • enough good rewarding sites for all
  • Are some ready to stand awake and while others earn ISK? Even if it is shared, it is sometimes very boring and I doubt that he just wants to turn his ship.

Maybe it would be good to not call the things that CCP counts players and instead use the proper term: Characters. For instance, there are not 17273 players online at the moment, but 17273 characters. If there actually were 17273 players online, we would not have any of the issues.
It would help the discussion immensely if people would stop using deceptive terminology.

couldn’t agree more, the blackout has affected my game play a lot and in a negative way as a casual player in a small semi independent null alliance.
there would be far more pvp if the umbrellas was removed/alterd and also if there were more semi indipendant null sec groups… but instead the 1337 pvp players cry they need more content so ccp takes away from the casual players who like to relax, chill, [and do some pvp] in the small null sec empire they built for them selfs.
every one seams to rage about the blue donut but that’s what letting bots run wild and that’s what taking pvp out of null… the 1337 pvp players need to use there brains instead of spamming f1

Yeah that’s a fair point actually.

Those are all just random factors , or how a person might play . I said something that could make it easier for people struggling and help the other factors they have to learn to take into account for themselves.

Who do you think is going to pay a subscription to watch for gate flashes for 4 hours at a time?

Once upon a time, anyone claiming to live in Null claimed to be an elite pvp player.

I wonder what changed

Chaos is good for the game. Makes things more interesting.

IMO it should go permanent in some regions, with the status of a given region able to be influenced somewhat, but not completely, by player action.

yes it is total rubbish and you know it, come on  there is all types of pilots in null, i’ve heard more claim to be noobs in PVP than elite.

what’s ya beef with null anyway?

This doesn’t seem to be consistent with observed reality.

Attrition wears down large forces moreso than small ones, undisciplined ones moreso than disciplined ones, worse organized ones moreso than better organized ones, less motivated ones moreso than more motivated ones, etc.

I’m sure you would never want to admit, especially not in the face of all the Goons that might read this, that they are superior, but the thought has to at least go through your mind. Maybe they are better. Maybe acknowledging the possibility that you aren’t already “best” is the first step toward self-improvement. But, then, there is no “real” need to do that since . . . It’s just a game™. Right?

What is there in null sec space that I should go live there? You? LOL Your neutral security status tells me that you don’t live in null, either. In fact, it indicates to me that you don’t even undock. So, by your own criterion, maybe no one should listen to you about ANYTHING related to EVE that doesn’t involve being docked in a station.
Your elitism is showing.

You should probably reread it.

I dont have a beef.

I just like to see entitled whiners be miserable. Is that a crime?
