Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

Removing local is increased risk. As PvE now needs active not just passive defence and about time too.

Not the way the Goons are talking it isnt. Or any of the other Blocers in this thread who know what they are talking about.

Risk for krabby makes everyone happy but it doesnt increased the raw threat of getting your face knocked in by Blocers, or being behind the walls of Bloccertown.

And if it was actually increasing risk and causing active defense which the goons would have trouble long term, who are the last people who would give you a straight answer?

The Goons.

But its not just the Goons, is it?

And besides, in what realistic way does it hamper an organisation of that size?

You think they cant be bothered pressing v?

You think having to send out combat ships with PvE ships is just pressing v?

You will also notice that an article about the Blackout warned ā€œIf you live in NullSec, you should play carefully if you hope to survive the weekend and the coming weeksā€

Sounds like increased risk to me. Especially when you add in the Goon warning

Seems to me people had ways of playing safe by making there sections of space safer through teamwork , seems some people did not like the idea of people working to build something together , compared to Whiners not able to get enough klills.

Are you niave enough to think an group like Goons (or any of the blocs for that matter) sends out PVP fleets with PVE’rs?
They have ā€œstanding fleetsā€ - PVP fleets on standby (in Goons case usually 100+ Supers) in case something of value gets tackled. Most in a standing fleet will also be doing something else, like ratting or mining while waiting to see if they are needed to save something.

Really funny thing though is, this is not new, it is not because of the blackout - It is because this is how the big groups operate day to day.

The blackout has created some PVP opportunities for those who would not normally be brave, smart, or skilled enough to go to Nul and kill a few defenceless pve’rs otherwise.,.

Only those who don’t live in nul could believe the blackout is anything more than a nuisance.

You do need to stop with this madness. If anyone is being helped by the blackout, it is the big blocs. And if you believe that the blackout is going to cause damage or is causing damage to those entities…

Yeah cos they dont usually have ships in space?

Catch a grip.

They. Arent. Worried.

There is a lot of whining for a nuisance.

Was a shame we blapped the Depot with the cyno in it…

So again there is no problem and they can all stop complaining and threatening to quit.

Which they have repeatedly told you they arent doing.

Which is it? Are they lying about staying or lying about quitting?

Choose one.

Getting rid of the overview and forcing people to lock stuff up in space, or heaven forbid, point their ship and fire like an FPS would certainly make the ā€œdon’t shoot Xā€ a bit harder to do… now its just some kind of spaceship pr0n where its the FC counts down to 0 and everyone F1’s their load…

Donut on Donut action.

How thrilling.

Give stations the same range as a super, cause right now a station is like 400 km and a super is 10 times that…

I did it is ā€œThey are whining, like babiesā€ over something you say does not affect them at all.

Really? Where?

Who do you think its riskier for?

I’m loving this change. If they hadn’t done it, those 2 rattlesnakes wouldn’t have died hilariously because a wormhole opened up and they had roughly 4 seconds to get out while the sabre was in warp.

They also probably wouldn’t have warped a tasty revelation to the wormhole itself, where it met a very sad end.

If it were anything more than a nuisance for the large blocs don’t you think we’d be hearing about it?

They are silent for a very good reason, they aren’t the targets of the ā€œlete pvpr’sā€ praising the blackout. It is smaller groups who can’t field hundreds of players into standing fleets that are suffering due to the blackout.
We’ve had more applications to join the alliance I’m in since the blackout began than in the last year AND I don’t belong to a mega group, just one that can look after its own.

CCP’s got it wrong again - They stated when ā€œFozzieSovā€ was released that smaller entities would be able to own space - Of course overall they were wrong - Now they put blackout in place and the primary targets are those same few small entities CCP promised opportunities to.

CCP giveth and CCP taketh away - through sheer lack of understanding the game they own.,.
