Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

How many accounts do you have then my “elite” brother, 36?

What exactly would it matter how many accounts I have? If I have one account, you’re objectively wrong and if I have nine accounts you’re still objectively wrong.

9 accounts huh, I can see why you’re stressed.

No, now the bots just go do a different form of botting, most likely. You can bot anything - missions, markets, high-sec anomaly escalation farming, etc.

Hell, attended/semi-attended botting of things like supercaps and rorqs wouldn’t even require much in the way of edits.

Program bot to play audio alarm and light cyno when baddies land on grid. Yell at umbrella bros on comms.

If you think this “solves” botting you’re just not very imaginative.

So, have you ever known anyone who can hit Dscan every 4 seconds for 10 minutes let alone an hour or two - Even with a built in random time modifier - a regular as clockwork D-Scan is a big red flag.

Then, If you program the D-Scan script to act more ‘human’ a bot’s chance of getting caught is the same as a real player - they have been given no advantage.

Edit: I understand that there are bots that can hack as well - the answer for this is more intrusive, use a captcha - Hack success please enter this code to open the loot box.

Oh, you’re one of those deficient ones. Unsurprising.

How exactly are you envisioning multiple accounts working? Someone with fifteen accounts works fifteen accounts simultaneously? If you want stress, try relying entirely on other players for having cyno coverage where you need it. Relying on other players for trade, logistics, hauling and pretty much always with your assets or isk on the line in all those regards.

My accounts reduce my stress. My capitals jump to cynos I have 100% control of. My trade, logistics and hauling needs are met by me. My industry ensures I have for all intents and purposes infinite isk by letting a few accounts cycle jobs over the course of twenty minutes every few days.

Stress? I think I’ve worked two accounts on the same grid twice in my career, outside of stress free stuff like triage alts or cloaked stationary scouts etc.

You don’t seem to grasp how the game works, so I shouldn’t really expect you to understand how multiple accounts affect players, but you really should make less assumptions at this point. You’re somehow managing to become more wrong with every post.

Nothing will be as easy as warping to a combat site or belt in null and beginning ratting, This is a huge blow to botting accept the reality.

…which they still can do, quite safely, in supers.

There’s very little in Eve that is difficult to automate, and since the real strength in bots is the ability to do things in massive, parallel quantities, it doesn’t much matter if you make it a little less convenient.

You seem to be laboring under the delusion that saying the same incorrect thing repeatedly will somehow make it true. You should be less stupid, tbh.

I don’t see anywhere in my post that would indicate “complaining” other than that it isn’t doing what it is supposed to do.
It has not affected my game play in any way.
My only complaint as I’ve said is that CCP is again (as they are so famous for) wasting time on ineffectual unbalanced change.

I was really hoping CCP would have had enough of looking foolish when it comes to the design of their game. They obviously haven’t, they are listening to the CEO who hasn’t had a clue about how the game is played for a very long time.
This and this alone is why i am considering not resubbing - Nothing to do with the change actually having a negative affect on my game play.

I am at the point i can’t support a company that continues to make such dumbass, avoidable mistakes.

Homer Simpson could run CCP better than Hilmar

Could have fooled me.

spoken like a true “elitist”

Telling someone who’s said upthread that they’re not even subscribed, haven’t been for months, and who is generally in favor of the Blackout that they’re stressed, huh?

I can see why you’d think I should be having another think. You’re certainly not having any.

Is this the Bot thread? Srsly, ennuf w tht crap!

TBH, while they don’t always get it quite right, in all the years I’ve seen you post you’ve never done anything aside from bitch and moan about whatever change it is they’ve made lately, and they’re nothing but impossibly incompetent.

Never a word of it has ever been slightly useful, constructive, thoughtful, or said with a mind towards improving the situation.

It really just seems like you come here for the exclusive purpose of unloading vitriol in CCP’s direction. It’s honestly ■■■■■■■ bizarre.

Well, he is the greatest guy in history.

You obviously haven’t been reading my posts.
I’ve constantly made suggestions (even in these two pointless threads - They are just hard to see if you don’t read whole posts and only scan them.

Look back at my posting, point out all the posts i have stated a change will not do as intended - Then tell me i got it wrong.
I learned years ago, making suggestions to Eve Devs is fudgin pointless.

Funny you put that particular clip. I was actually thinking of using Fred Flinstone but figured many of the player base wouldn’t know who he was

So, right now, Local is so screwed up that in QY6-RK, the system has told me I have joined 1DQ1-2 Local…

… and someone is asking if it’s ok to salvage behind another player… in 5-CQDA.

This thing is still completely haywire. It’s not so much a ‘Blackout’ as a ‘Massively short-circuited switchboard’.

Things like these always remind me of when the server went down for 2 days… Back then, it was funny. Today, not so funny anymore.

CCP will listen when we hit sub 10k current users and pvpers have no more soft targets to kill.

You’re saying BO has had absolutely no impact on botting?, have I understood you correctly?

I accept your point about supers it is still possible to use them to bot, I’d like to explore this further.

It is my view that sub-capital botting has been impacted due to the BO and I would think that lots of bots wouldn’t bother. Using your point about supers being used to bot, don’t you think they would stick out like a sore thumb if they chose to set up the bot during BO? Surely it would be logical for the super pilots who bot to keep a low profile while local is switched off and CCP are actively analysing BO data like they said they would?

Also if super pilots did risk botting during BO then wouldn’t they be promoting pvp and giving their enemies a chance to impact their bot incomes? If no one is bothered to pvp with enemy bots flying supers then that is an issue with the way people chose to play Eve.

It might be you who is the delusional and stupid one.
