Local Comms Blackout - Discussion Thread - Part Deux!

CAn we REEE this sht up to 10,000 again… and just have the matter settled

Also… CCP of all the bullsht… never got so many people riled up… MAYBE its an indicator this MIGHT NOT BE A GOOD IDEA… JUST SAYING … ANYONE READING THIS SHT ANYWAYS!!!

Serious analysis… If player retention was any worse IT WOULD BE A FCKING NEGATIVE NUMBER!!! So how TF is giving everyone free ganks going to GROW THE GAME… Like aww cute new bro comes to me… and say awwww how can i make it big in eve like you… with their little doe eyes… WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO TELL THEM CCP??? HUH??? GET FUKED? GO GET GANKED IN YOUR MYRMIDON NOOB? OR GET ■■■■ ON ASPIRING MINER BRO IN YOU STUPID PROPOISE? OR Exploration is great… EXCEPT THERES 8 cloaked Lokis in each relic site circle jerking eachother watching pornhub and waiting for an astero…

According to the krab risk assessment matrix… basicly NULLSEC activity that isnt straight up FEEDING is T2 Mining Drones in a Rorqual (goodluck with that btw) or Ratting in a Super… With 100 other supers nearby… so … sorry lil newbie… i guess you should do highsec mission till you can afford a super…?

OR for the truely desperate… JUST BUY PLEX… good luck on that sell (WILL NEVER HAPPEN if thats the desired endstate)

Honestly and objectively… and regretfully… the only viable recourse is to just go gank people too stupid to use the krab risk assessment… Till they quit playing… or move to highsec? ALSO… This is the opposite of growing the game… So yeah… bring back all the leet pvpers that “resubbed after years (There is no FCKING WAY that is true btw)” rolling around in 2 bil loki’s for a month or 2… then everyone else and especially the new players are like HA fck this…

I had a buddy of mine… chatting BEFORE the blackout and we were chatting and i mention yeah i played EVE for years… and hes like ohhh can you show me that game; I’ve heard about it… I was like uhh sure… and NEVER DID… cause its like… an investment of YEARS OF EFFORT… and its basicly utter ■■■■… ■■■■ like this… so I did him a favor…

LICK THE SALT OFF MY FACE…

Has anyone flown into Null space, such as Providence, to see if the owners are out protecting their gates from large amounts of ships?

I have always wondered how stationed up defense fleets would respond if they weren’t able to see who was in local.

Just gank all of the forums CCP, we’re with ya…pretty good seat to watch from up here. Popcorn?

That’s genius. %100 better than the existing station view, no billboards, no confusing menu icons, not too dark that gamma needs to be adjusted to insane levels. I bet if it were a gif that lights would blink nicely too.

They’re giving away SP in an event, even more if you are omega. It might be valid data, its just got some inherent bias to it that due to the events being run.

I got local back on one of my accounts for 20 mins before DT…

At this point it will only be settled when CCP gets local back and apologizes for the mess they have created. Even if players get used to no local, even if many players who are posting about quitting the game dont quit, but simply play as Alpha, the trust between CCP and its player base has been damaged for good I think

How do you damage an already burning wreck of a concept?

No. I said it doesn’t solve it. Can you even read? Are you unfamiliar with the general definition of “solution”?

Well you called me delusional and stupid when I said that the BO is a huge blow to botting. Talk straight in future.

THe blackout hurts botting, screws normal players who want to just log on for a few hours and rat/mine outside the normal high activity hours of his friends.

The answer to fix botting is simply put a max average hours per week per account for interacting with a certain activity. Something like 28 hours mission/Ratting, 42 hours for mining, Then give a free pass once a year (to cover but I have a week off and no life). This solution basically does not remove botting, but removes the worse part of impact from abuse. It would no longer be possible for a bot to spend 100 hours per week ratting/mission running/mining and drag them closer to what a dedicated human could do.
Yes, I know the “time limit” is a bad word in game designer language, but so should be beating casual player over the head to get the “cheaters”/

Overall this would not be so bad if were not for the cloaky plus cyno issue, ONE cloaky gets into your system and logs there and you are now semi permantly lost that outside the umbrella system,

As it’s happening with many other areas, game styles, careers and Null upgrading, Any effect on Botting is collateral from the BO, until CCP states the opposite. This is not CCP’s primary intention thus, topic of other threads. No one denies it’s effect on this and many other areas. Please move the BOT discussion somewhere else.
CCP was specific on this and botting was of little to none mention.

Botting in Null is a Massive issue, that is where the best money is made, additionally it can support MANY high income bots. Local was what made VNI ratting bots pretty much immune to being killed, ergo botting impact is not a side effect of the blackout UNLESS the entire team at CCP is full of morons, which is certainly possible.

Did not see that one coming… I’m in full agreement… It could be full of morons and you can call me naive. Still, if Botting was a primary objective… as many here have commented, there are a bunch of more effective paths to follow. If CCP states that the move is to make older, loyal and more experienced players’ gaming more difficult, that’s what it is! and it could be more productive if people focus on that fact.
I don’t care about Bots. I do care about the time invested in proposed mechanics on which the BO exercises a contradictory effect. I care about the lack of information which now seems less intentional when you can obviously see that there is a problem with the chats accentuated by BO. For example, who can tell if the intention was a week long event and now they just can’t restart it? Just an example, don’t get dirty…

hey CCP im still not gona buy ur gametime/plex. first go and find real solutions for the empires of filth u created

Some of you have a short memory. Over many years people have been saying turning off local chat in null is somewhat of a solution to botting.

All CCP have said is that they are monitoring the effect on the cluster, they did not give a solid reason as to why they are doing the blackout.

The botting convo belongs here.

Over the years, people, not this time. Not CCP this time.

Not all CCP has said. Monitoring is diagnostics, not reason. And please check on the interview for the reasons for BO. Check when they said Botting anywhere and see there indeed is little or none.

As part of the discussion and effects of BO, it could be for it’s deserved moment. But we already got your point. Noted and taken many times. There is no need to keep on bringing it up because it’s clearly susceptible of singled as trolling.

Haven’t gone to Provi, but feel free to come to Delve. The standing fleet could use a distraction from being bored.

People talk about blackout being a counter to VNI botting… but VNI was nerfed and blackout is still here…

So, if botters are out of the equation now, who is left being affected? Us, the players of null: indy, miners, pvpers, pve-ers etc… this blackout crap is cancerous.
