These people want to play a solo PVE game with just the “fantasy” of living inside a persistent mmo/ cutthroat universe.
They haven’t an actual clue what being cutthroat means in practice, nor do they even want to when it’s applied to them.
Soo they complain and complain and complain and complain … for decades.. until the devs finally give in and turn the needs of that demographic into a business opportunity.

The decision to create safezones in the game is already made. There is no discussion left.

I came back pointing it out for what it is, backed with history of games of similar nature, and how it will change the inherent nature of game, for ever basically.

Problem is: in Exordium you can’t calm down the miners. That’s the essence of the new space.
I think a lot could still change in the next few weeks before June 9. I also imagine that FC will be keeping a very close eye on Exordium over the summer.
Those are just the ones that didnt learn from dumb mistakes they made that lead to being ganked, thats all.
Take it all with a grain of salt. Last I knew anyway, CCP still has trolls who read the forums. Nothing seems to be set in stone yet? That said, again CCP’s track record of getting players to do what they want vs abuse the s**t outta the game should be another good experiment in human nature.

IE: The dog = Physically separating a game’s PVE vs PVP demographic.
The pure PVE crowd will finally have their 100% safe place to farm in peace and stay as long as they want to. Are new players to be booted out from Exordium by force after 30 days ? Unlikely.
The PVP crowd will lose out on content on the long run. I can’t imagine what Faction Warfare will look like without any noobs around, and it’s already pretty bad in that regard (multiboxing excluded…) , it will now most likely get worse.
Long Term Effects = … ?
Imo, an Ultima Online style breakdown of Pvp v Pve or Predator v Prey dynamics, not counting ganking in Highsec, we can probably count on the Princess @Aiko_Danuja to keep that going until the server’s last breath, even with considerably less targets.

Part of me thinks the responsibility is also on the community to get newbies involved in PvP through pipeline efforts which I know some do.
Exordium also has one time shipcasters direct to FW HQs of each empire. So theres that. There is opportunity for veterans and players alike to be part of the new player experience to get them involved.
Yes there will likely be people and corporations that exploit newbies before, during and after their time in Exordium using corp tax and ■■■■. Part of the social experience is warning and teach newbies about scamming behavior.
All of this stuff aint just in a vaccum (of space, haha).
now the whole farming debate starts all over again. It was almost quiet by now.

Mining is already incredibly tedious and boring in high-sec… I can’t imagine that anyone would seriously want to multi-box it in Exordium for any length of time (safe or not).

It doesn’t really matter what temporary rule they implement right now to make it seem like a balanced initiative, the trend is favoring the game towards the safer, spoonfed, kiddysupport side, and not the MadMax / Cutthroat in space simulator it was initially meant to be, and stay…
Once enough people moan again, “waaah Exordium farm banhammer is too harsh etc ! Waah we need more options to become self sufficient and have fun in Exordium and prepare ! etc etc !”
Then they will slowly add more permanent farming and PVE options in there, just watch …
Pandora’s box is wiiide open, don’t believe one second the carebear crybabys to be short on breath on this one …
There’s a special circle in Hell reserved for players who actually enjoy mining in EVE.
Making that hell a real thing for them, FROM DAY ONE ,was part of the main reason I installed this game 20 years ago …
Granted the attempt failed miserably, I took my first frigate to lowsec looking for a miner to blow up, and got my ass handed to me.
Turned out they were local pirates baiting in a farming Brutix, and then they invited me to their corp.
And then well … true adventure and fun random stories kept coming for 8-10 years straight.
So, will any noobs popping up in Exordium experience something like this now ?

I attacked an Autothysian Lancer with my puny Venture drones, on my first day. Amazingly I survived, managed to warp out before being destroyed. My introduction to big bad nasty ships. It encouraged me to get such ships myself. So what does CCP do…they remove the Lancers from highsec.
The facepalm was not for the fact that you are wrong, but the discussion in all these threads was already done. I see it in the same way as you and totally hate the concept.
I also agree that it opens the door for more. And we found about 500b isk in minerals possible to be mined in Exordium a month…so also this is contrary to a “worthless space”.
The current resources are far beyond what i would have expected from the CCP/FC blogposts and announcements. But everyone supporting Exordium tells me, those are not the final values and i should stay tuned for the official opening.
Again, i am fully lined up with your thinking. If there are no real consequences established everyone and their pet will head with their mining fleets to Exordium.
