Lol, Safezones

Whatever you are up to, you don’t catch the essence of how EVE works in total. If you take part in the market and buy and sell stuff you are also doing PVP and not PVE.

If you get yourself ganked by another player while hauling your stuff on autopilot or without scout, you are also doing PVP. You did PVP in space before you planned to do PVP in the station market.

Even mining can be considered PVP as in an MMORPG it is a fight over the resources with other players directly and indirectly. If you have ever found yourself in a mining battle over e.g. ice roids, you would know this first hand.

And don’t take it lightly and think i try to troll you…resource acquisition is serious business and it doesn’t stop by far at crossed mining lasers on the same roids. Corps bring in their own bumpers to keep the rivals out of mining range, wardecs are used to keep the rivals out of the belts and even gankers are directly paid and called in to remove other players.

Gankers shooting thier mining alts is an Elite PVP. Hmmm, I may try that for padding.

Fenris (silent r) always do a lot of funny updates. The key is to stop whining and just adapt.

That’s fine, I accept credit

Why does in not surprise me that my point went right over your head. Wooosh !

If CCP had any sense, they’d realise that your type is NOT the canary in the coal mine. You are two a penny. The real canary in the coal mine is probably people such as myself. WE are the ones whose departure should start ringing alarm bells at CCP. We keep the entire economy ticking over. We provide the destruction that necessitates mining and trading in the first place. We make your two a penny job meaningful.

Without adequate destruction, EVE will collapse. Your commodities will be worthless.

Probably 9 out the last 10 expansions have tried to increase destruction yet it seems to barely move the needle according to the MER. Thats why i say the more the devs try to increase destruction the less of it there will be.

I also think its important to have contrasts in EVE. Without a proper PVP free zone PVP ends up feeling forced and it turns ppl off. Peace.

But turning ppl off and away can also be a sign of a good and special game.

Similar to how a movie or music does not have to appeal to everyone, a game also certainly does not. So the less it turns people off, the more generic and replaceable it becomes. If this was turned into a Lalaland, i could as well just put my money into another game.

If you want more pvp and more destruction the worst you can do is try to force it

Nice try on the AI, Im a chick btw, not some macho mexican gigolo…

@Uta_Asmai So where did CCP mention that 25% and in which context ? Burden of proof is on you since you come in here with the claim.

Or are you too brain-lazy to be any good at forum PvP as well ?

It’s all about attitude, in life in general, in internet forums, and even inside Eve…

People who constantly moaned against PvP for 20 years always failed to master this important notion about themselves, FIRST …

You seem to fall in that category pretty well.

The “worst” remains your subjective opinion, it is not factual, and only a matter of individual perspective. (In the real world, you would usually check that with yourself FIRST before saying something …)

PvP as well as Destruction (via pvp or pve) creates Demand in a player driven economy.

Whether it is forced or not, is irrelevant, the fact is, it is a requirement for the game to function.

Otherwise, we could just do away with player driven economy altogether, fix static prices on everything, and make everything available, and only have consensual “duel” pvp, and pve.

I mean, we “could” let this game turn this way, but, I guarantee you, people would leave in droves, and the servers would close sooner than you can blink, as there are better, and much prettier games out there already doing this.

The burden was always on you lot to simply accept Eve as a different animal, and go play those games instead.

You didn’t though, you stayed, you moaned for 20 or so years, and eventually, came Alpha accounts, and eventually, came Safezones…

You lot properly ruined it, all from simply not checking with yourself first when being “unjustly” ganked by “force”, and before moaning loud enough about it and then ruining it for most of everyone else.

Happy ?

Couldn’t this “forced pvp” interaction have taught you anything about life in general instead, your life maybe ? Anything at all ?

Had you reflected, even for one second …

Yeah it’s not a lot when compared to proper regions of high sec that are in the trillions in actual mined rocks and not theoretical maxes.

Games change, I won’t attempt to stop users from quitting, that happens as well. People don’t care much for massive changes in their entertainment. Just like TV dramas, you present a current issue and a seasonal story arc, but you never make massive changes to upset the audience. I remember back when my brother and I were enjoying Star Trek the Next Generation and they ended the season on Picard being assimilated by the Borg. We were both certain the next season would have Riker as captain and Data his executive officer. Nope. They kept the status quo and everything was back to normal.

I have told this forum, the new safe zone is a sponge. There might be a dry spell for a month and then people will be avoiding and skipping the new zone. The Pochven region was built for hardcore PvPers. When was the last time anyone saw any system in Pochven red from ships destroyed?

I really would not stop playing over such a change. I can disagree with the notion this will add players to the game. It is my opinion the trailers are more to blame than anything they have done or will do to entice people to stay here.

I wanna see the source too. If you can quote it and base your arguments on it, then you can go and dig it up. This is what people who like to be taken seriously do (not that I think you are one).

He might made up the numbers, but he might be very close. There is reason why half the player base lives in highsec and that majority of them don’t intend to ever step into lowsec/nullsec/wh (again).

They don’t want be killled. They are extremely upsed when that happens and are raging in local or private chat, swearing on their killer, making a kill threats and kill wishes and worse. They might not mind to kill others though. Because this behavior is often seen from lowsec and nullsec players who gets ganked in highsec too.

Anyway, I am pretty sure that 90% of the players on my small multiplayer server would want everything 2x faster, 2x stronger and 2x cheaper. But I, just like CCP, am not an idiot. I know what would happen if I gave it to them. The game would just die.

I am making a compromises, which this new safe space probably is, but game developer mustn’t compromise the original design intention of the game.

Typical player age “these” days.

In the modern U.S. military, it takes approximately 10 to 12 support personnel to sustain a single frontline combat soldier. This ratio of combat forces to logistical support is known in military terminology as the Tooth-to-Tail Ratio

Which may affect the numbers. You all should be ashamed of yourselves for not looking this crap up before posting.

I have 3 acct’s for a total of 9 toons. 8 of which support MB in some way, shape, manner or form. 2 in combat for a small fleet of 3. And yes, you can run 3 combat toons at once with the proper motivation and PC power.

The best tears are salt tears! You know you’re not good enough when you start to cry. Turning the game into a day care is not going to help the game numbers if no one is willing to pay the staff. Free to play has way too much power. Should have been kept in pvp free starter sys.

DUDE…please get adult…this was bs 20 years ago and(obviously) is denied by most today…a minority making this up for 20 years does not make it true…

Not true. I don’t mind getting killed - even losing. But a completely stacked fight that serves only to provide others with lol’s and “content”? F*ck that. I choose to blue ball you…

What a load of BS… Trying to tag everything in this game as PvP is nothing more than major gaslighting…

The fact of the matter is the majority of content in this game is PvE and depending on the situation, may contain elements of PvP…

^ Agreed. Industry, PI and the market isn’t PvP unless you’re blowing said sh*t up before it reaches said destinations. Undercut my market order? Big deal - I undercut you.

Define “completely stacked fight”. I for example am ganking with 1 max 2 toons at once. And my ship is basically always weaker than the target I am ganking. Doesn’t stop the complaints, rage, death wishes and kill threats from my victims anyway.

And that some players are using 20+ catalysts to kill one Marauder or Freighter is simply a result of how the game mechanics works. If they would be a way to kill that freighter with one ship we would do that. Ie. Cenotaphs. Now nerfed to oblivion exactly because gankers were using them to gank with and avoided the need to bring 20+ catalysts on the target.
