Bumping miners became boring after the first time I did it. Never even tried ganking.
Depends on how far you take it. I’m sure there are players that I had so worked up they probably kicked their pet across the room before breaking their keyboard and quitting the game…
It quickly became: “What’s the point?” I’m not gaining anything, I’m not achieving anything and it’s just a dick activity (mining sucks, so let’s make it we ben less enjoyable for them).
I don’t bump solo miners. I only bump mass multiboxers and those who are obviously comatose levels of AFK.
To each their own. I’m just saying I didn’t get the allure…
Fair. I don’t get the allure of station trading and market PvP. But I do rather enjoy making other players mad enough to spit nails…
Oh, I think that’s even possible on the forums…
Whew…that leaves me out of the mix.

I only bumped one player. I was giving free boost to noobs in an ice belt sys so local was very happy with that back before it cost me scripts. One player would just not shut up in local.
Another player and I decided this guy had to go. With local yelling 'Yey", he and I bumped him till he left.
I griefed, never ganked.
I get it.. Mining can be boring. Even in a fleet. Still as a miner and a trader.. A filthy arms dealer mustn’t forget that. I would still like to know who the player said that here on the forums. To give credit where it is do.
If you define PVP to simply blowing up ships. Brother let me clue you in on something far more vicious. Trading. While you are buying your ships and modules. There is a war that goes on. One where it is not ships that get destroyed, but fortunes. Imagine waking up one morning and you have enough Isk to buy and sell any Upwell structure and buy enough titans to choke the proverbial horse.
Then because you thought you were the smartest pilot that has ever piloted. You invest in the wrong thing. Dumping Isk into a project or investment. It blows up in your face. Find out that it was a set up. Now even the newest newbie in the game has more Isk than you do.
Trading is a matter of being smart enough to know a scam when you see it and humble enough to know that you are going to get scammed at least once. Seeing a trend for what it is. Running numbers. Remembering number do not lie, but you can make numbers lie down. I had a math teacher that was fond of saying that.
That while trading lacks the nice fireball in the sky ascetics. It is still more vicious and even less forgiving than ganking a bait ship. It is something that most here rarely see or even realize that happens every day. For you gankers and those that do the NPSI and such things. When you log off. The games stops there.
As a trader. It never ends. Logging on the next day. Seeing what has sold. What you though would sell and didn’t. Whether someone is undercutting you.
As for mining. At the end of a long day. Hitting a rock with a laser. listening to the Grateful Dead is far more relaxing. Even as I am watching the D-scan and my overview. Listening to the solar wind. As well as the background game music. It is almost a zen thing.
Mining in Uedema ain’t boring. Sometimes I persuade newbies to mine there.
Exordium will take that away from you now.
Fun stuff: if you lose a ship you simply need to buy another. No big deal.
In general: when you do anything around other players this is PVP. It does not matter if anyone has made a shot or not. You compete for something and this is “versus”.
PvA (player vs. alt), PvB (player vs. bot), PvAI (player vs. AI)…
PvFC

But Instead you leave that up to the gankers whose victims come to the forums, providing you with and endles supply of salty tears
I bet they have fun seeing who can warp out fastest.. LOL
I like your AI style! ![]()
Vaporizing/griefing noobs wore thin after a couple of months. I switched to alpha strikes on more capable ships which might be left as a flaming wreck but still repairable. You have to remember how far back this was. I was still testing firepower as I was still skilling up. Then 2014 came and null blk wars came to an end. My favorite prey was gone so I crawled under a rock/wh. It was interesting at 1st, got rich, got kills, but never felt the same satisfaction I did as when I outsmarted(?)/outplayed(
) the null blks"s.
No new player will ever feel the chill that runs up your spine the 1st time someone in your corp says “Goon are coming”. The game was designed for players who wanted to bite off more than they could chew. Sad times indeed.
Boy did he get this right but just said trading. Every aspect is pvp, like it or not. Mining, manufacturing, trading, etc. is pvp.
And I admit, I do love the tears of the weak minded/willed. I leave it up to others to take up the challenge of making ganking profitable. Should I ever bother again, I’ll stick to living under a rock/wh. I’m curious to see how this all works out. Meh…
Not very well - you can run , but your can’t hide from Zaera.
I think they’re going to try to handcuff you behind your back on this one, but you might like that!? ![]()
