Lost connection

Hi. I didnt play this game for very long time, think ca 6y. But now i wat to, but i cant. Reason is simply when i log it to the game i lose connection after few second, and only option is quit. I try to fix that by google the issue, but nothink help. Try to get some help from support but i get only message like “use file check” etc…
What i did:

  • check game files from luncher
  • disconnect/connect my account many times,
  • restart Authenticator
  • sync time on my pc
  • restart whole network
  • restart pc
  • check for new updates, also drivers not only game

Have no idea what i can do more

and i finish on this.
Someone can help?

Did you fetch the latest launcher or are you trying to use one from 6 years ago? I suppose this will fail since they change the whole communication infrastructure.

Mate, have a new one, i try this from eve website and also steam

//edit

okey… i found it… i connect via cable to my router, game works fine, via wifi still same problem.
really ? anyone know how to fix that? If its not possible to use wifi i just have to type to stuff for get my money for omega back cause its 21 century and i think it should be possible to use wifi instead of wire…

The problem isn’t the game, the problem is your wifi network. So this:

Isn’t really an appropriate response. It’s not CCP’s fault, and it’s not like EVE doesn’t work over wifi (it does). The problem is, unlike web traffic, EVE has to maintain a stateful connection to the game servers and is sensitive to delay and intermittent packet loss. The quality of your wifi connection is sufficiently low that it’s causing your problem.

The issue is either:

  1. Your wifi access point/router (faulty hardware),
  2. The wireless NIC in your computer (faulty hardware),
  3. Interference from conflicting networks and/or other equipment on the same radio band (i.e. bluetooth devices and microwave ovens vs 2.4GHz), or
  4. One or more of the above.

Try changing your wifi channel (1, 6, or 11). If your equipment supports it, try changing from 2.4GHz to 5GHz. Get a wifi analyzer app for your phone or tablet and see what other wifi traffic is broadcasting in your immediate area. If 20 other surrounding wifi networks are on 11 (and so are you), try switching to 1 or 6 if they are less crowded. If everyone on 5GHz is on a low channel, try moving to a high channel.

TL;DR: fix your wifi.

This is the only way to react to something like this. If you buy a TV in a store, come home and it doesn’t work what do you do? You return the goods, take your money and never come back. It’s the same with the game, I’m a consumer not a developer. For my part, I did what I could, and I see that CCP is of the same opinion. After sending a notification that I can’t log in and sorry but I want my money back, the omega was removed from my account and a message came to my email that the money would be back within a month. A very big plus for such a reaction from CCP. Your method helped, changing the wifi channel solved the problem. I emphasize this again, I wouldn’t have any problem if it was a beta version, I would simply not buy it and after encountering such a problem I would uninstall it and forget that such a thing exists. Nevertheless, thank you very much for your effective help, a big plus from me for that. thank you ccp for the satisfactory reaction. If I caused a stir, I apologize. I will not return to this production. EOT

Right, but if the TV is fine and it’s the outlet in your home that’s not working (or you lost power service), then it’s not the fault of the TV manufacturer. CCP is not responsible for your internet connection, your ISP is.

So you buy a TV in a store come home and it doesn’t work…then you take it back without analyzing the root cause and finding that your satelite or cable receiver is not working?

You still don’t realize that not the game is at fault, but your network?

Also i wonder who you thank for by calling out CCP? ISD helped you, not CCP. Or did you open a customer support ticket with CCP and were helped there?

In your thread here you have only talked to players and volunteers. Who used their unpaid time to try and help you. Therefore i find the demanding and harsh tone of your posts bewildering, to put it mildly.

I’ve been experiencing similar connection issues for years. Sometimes I lose connection during missions, and the NPC rats continue firing while I’m disconnected. Luckily, when flying a Marauder in Siege Mode, it’s usually not a big deal—the tank holds up. Just make sure your shield booster is running before initiating warp and you’re generally safe.

However, this kind of instability makes it nearly impossible for me to play in nullsec or participate in PvP. In those environments, even a short disconnect can be fatal. It’s frustrating because the risk and coordination in those areas are much higher, and losing a ship due to connection issues rather than combat is just demotivating.

Has anyone found a reliable workaround or is CCP aware of these persistent connection drops?

It might be the 21st century but WIFI in the 21st century sucks. connections like Eve’s with constant updates (not patches, but data sent between client and server about new ships, what movements everything around you do, what actions you do etc), do not work well with packet loss. WIFI very often has packet loss.

It is possible to get a somewhat stable WIFI connection, but there are many issues to look at:

1: Many WIFI cards in computers are trash, research if you need to replace yours (it is well known for a lot of models that they need replaced). If can’t find info on good / bad for it, can try an external one others have verified to be able to run stable

2: Private routers are often trash - again check yours.

3: Multiple routers available create issues
3A: Interference, make sure they run on separate frequencies
3B: Constant swapping, some software constantly swap between available access points in range. Make sure you stay connected to a single point if there are multiple.

All that being said, currently lots of people are complaining about Eve being unstable as well. Fixing your wifi can make you as stable as you are with the cable, but you may still crash until the issues Eve has gets addressed.

EDIT Forgot the obvious one: 4: Make sure the signal from your access point is strong at all spots you ever play from.
