Mach - Looks like a nerf but is it?

I think the claimed purpose was to change the meta of 0.0 armor Machariel gangs and to make people move from machariel to other ships? Did that happen?

It’s standard MMO shell-gaming:

“Oh look over here players, look how shiny/OP this ship/class/spec is…”

…6 months later after 75% of the playerbase moves towards that…

“Oh, here are some ‘BALANCE’ passes, we’re nerfing said ship/class/spec and buffing this other ship/class/spec…”

2 years later after all ships/classes/specs have been ‘balanced’…

“We’re now re-balancing that first ship/class/spec…”

get the picture. There is no interest in actual balance or perfecting the game.

not really that standard exists for a reason. you are never going to get things perfectly balanced and still have a large number of options that still feel unique. so they get things as close as they can and then make minor changes to ensure the meta and by extension the game doesn’t get stale

The staleness of Eve over the last 5 years has zero to do with ship bonuses, and has everything to do with the exact same half-dozen players/RMT-lords/ultimate carebears who control the entirety of null still. Now, NEW bonuses and NEW mods are entiretly different… pushing and pulling the same old sht just to be ‘fresh’ is pathetic.

Actually, the Machariel is fairly balanced. It just needs to be revised to 6 turrets and have the damage bumped accordingly (it gains a utility high).

The Rattlesnake needs to be hit with the nerf bat and gimped with 1 less launcher (it also gains another utility high).

Then the Vindicator needs to get reduce to 6 turrets, the damage buffed and given 2 utility high slots.

Nightmare, Barghest, Bhaalgorn and Nestor are all fine.

Why? Why do those all need 6 turrets and dual utility highs?

Rattle is fine, its slow and is one of the few non-marauders that can tank a carrier somewhat effectively (it can eventually break, but you have a chance to defang the carrier). Theyre popular for that reason, they tank a shitload. They can also be defanged like a carrier and are just a shitty missile BS and damage sponge at that point.

Vindi is a dps power house. Its vulnerable to neuts, it doesnt need to be able to run cap booster/nos while retaining all of its damage.
