Hello all, since updating to MacOS 26 I’m getting small black bars at the top and bottom of my screen in Eve.

Yes, I’ve just upgraded and noticed it as well. I thought it might be a resolution mis-match, but I’ve played with the settings and not been able to get rid of it. I don’t have time at the moment to dig too deeply into it, but confirmed that I see the same.
Thankfully, it’s only mildly annoying. Other than in-station locked windows, it didn’t seem to mess up any of my other window placement (overview, etc.).
Ah okay I did try the resolutions too just incase.
Hopefully it’s fixed with an update, I can’t afford to lose too much screen on a 13” laptop!
I have the same issue
Yep - mine is doing the same with the dock.
Annoyingly still not been fixed.
@Wirdalen_Eriker Hey, can you move this topic to Mac issues? Looks like devs don’t read it here ![]()
I think I’ve done that now. Thanks for the idea.
Still not fixed, I raised a bug report when this first happened. Anyone know what else I could try?
Still broken, new ticket going in.
Still broken
I have one of the macs with a notch. I am wondering if that is why it gets ‘letterboxed’ with the bars above/below ?
Oh this is a great point, mine has no notch so I didn’t consider that possibility.
It’s still oddly annoying, you’d hope they’d know which models have a notch or not.
They are probably putting it back on the user, because you can configure how the notch is handled in settings. Sure, respect what the user sets there, but also how hard is it for EVE on OSX to check notch on/off state ?
I’m playing on Mac mini with an external display which obviously doesn’t have that notch existing on laptops.
Playing on a Macbook plugged to a 4K monitor, these black bars feel weird, and also make the resolution look weird.
