Instead of NPCs dropping loot like ammo, modules, drones, etc, they only have the ISK bounty, and maybe minerals in their wreck.
However, instead of every wreck having something in it, all the mineral loot, if added, will be in the final NPC or wave in the combat anomaly or security mission.
All NPCs will still have bounties.
And turn all the modules that the NPCs did drop into craftable modules that do not drop anymore.
This would mean that, instead of most of the items in game being dropped from NPCs and unable to be crafted, all items can only be gotten through crafting, and NPCs only give bounty, and optionally, minerals.
========================================
Mining → Gives minerals
PvE → Gives ISK in the form of bounty, and a small amount of minerals in the last wave or npc in the anomaly or mission (optional)
PvE no longer gives modules, ammo, or drones. This would mean that most of the items in game are only available through crafting, instead of most of the items being drops from NPCs that can not be crafted. (Tech 1 Meta 1-5)
Escalations and DED combat sites would still exist that give a chance at deadspace modules, which will still only be found in these Escalations and DED combat sites.
I read this while I am hauling all the rat loot I am about to reprocess into minerals.
Have you heard of the reprocessing skill? Because of reprocessing you effectively get mostly minerals from rats anyway!
The main difference your suggestion will make is that reprocessing would become a mostly worthless skill, and that NPC combat pilots for some absurd reason will be carrying minerals in their ships instead of logical things you’d expect to find in combat ships like modules, drones and ammo.
Minerals also are less compact than the regular rat loot, which makes it a looting QoL nerf too as it’s harder to loot and move your loot.
In EVE miner NPCs or hauler NPCs will be carrying ore and minerals. Combat pilots carry combat stuff.
If there’s one thing I seriously dislike about games it’s to find coins and weapons when I kill a wolf, instead of meat, fangs and hide. EVE is no different. Let loot make sense please.
That. Every single one of his ideas exist only to make the game more dull and boring.
Another prime example why the “Player Features & Ideas” section be should be ISK-limited. Creating topics here, replies or even seeing the section definitely should cost money…
I don’t believe that the value of this market will match the demand from new players to fill an important niche, that being the classic new character whatever-fits fit. I think you need those drops to stock a shelf that just isn’t worth stocking with industry and that will quickly be abandoned for much more lucrative goods by industrialists.
