Marauder re-imagined

Players,

The name Marauder suggests an aggressive ship focused on high damage output, potentially at the expense of durability. The name doesn’t convey a vessel that becomes immobile and enters a bastion mode.

Bastion: a fortified stronghold, designed for defense.
Marauding: roaming to attack, steal, or destroy.

The Bastion module doesn’t really fit the “marauder” concept, even by name.


The Bastion module is also loaded with a bunch of balance hacks. For example:

  • Immobility – The ship becomes completely stationary
  • Weapon Timer – Once activated, cannot use stargates, jump drives, or certain movement modules while active
  • No Remote Support – Modules like remote repair or remote capacitor transfers cannot affect or be applied to the ship.

Marauders are awesome, leave em alone. Despite being immobile they are spectacularly aggressive ships and have a place in highsec, lowsec, and PvP. What is the problem to address?
