First post and I can’t agree with you more!
- Thank you for the Gila and VNI nerfs.
- Regarding nerfs to alpha missions, miners and ratters… If you nerf most of the income, the value of money will increase. Bots in each category will still earn the same percentage compared to players… = no change in economy.
This.
Trying to fight bots by punishing all doesn’t seem like a sound strategy. It doesn’t really cost the botter anything to continue, and will either be content with the reduced income as long as goals are still met, or find a way to bot the next highest income stream, all the while enjoying their day outside. Plus any perceived loss is mitigated by the fact that it’s an even playing field since the nerf affected everyone.
There’s more effective ways to fight bots, many suggested here in these forums. CCP has backtracked before, hopefully they’ll backtrack on the income nerfs again, once it’s shown they’re futile.
What’s the rush to buy skill books direct? You will have plenty of time between ‘site spawns’ to go book shopping
Want to stop inflation, then maybe CCP need to look at taking away areas of the game that give reward for zero or little effort such as MTU’s, PI (after initial set-up), Salvage drones. Before these tools and mechanics you had to manually put effort into these areas (anyone remember salvaging Wormhole sites in a cormorant?)
Although i understand why you are reducing the spawn rate of the anoms, maybe you should focus on additional content by removing automated systems and increasing player effort rather than reducing content to restrict income flow . Restricting content will make players leave the game.
Unfortunately you are correct and this is the side effect that skill injectors brought to the game.
capitals are to cheap anyways and a 1 time invest is not a huge problem
yea some skills ar now more expensive but basic skills are cheap
CCP needs to look at the beginners … guys who buy and fly capitals ar not in danger to run out of isk
JuuR
Very simple ore turns to ships, ships are insured then destroyed, voila suddenly rorqs are in fact injecting isk!
This is poor attitude and not understanding basic game mechanics.
So many players take this attitude of “I pay my $15 a month, I should be able to do XYZ” and anything that prevents this is somehow ‘breaking the game’. On the whole, post fozzie-sov most system are much better for PvE since now even the worst null security locations will have four havens and forsaken rally points when they might have only gotten one haven before.
If a super is in a basic system that only has four havens or forsaken rally points, of course its going to be sitting around doing nothing. Move it to where there are 11 havens and 7 sanctums. In an alliance or rental space that doesn’t have that kind of territory? Go somewhere that does.
Don’t want to move because -“too hard”? How can this be any different a situation as war breaking out and getting evicted from cozy rental space?
What garbage.
They have only themselves to blame.
This is no different to the Svipul being nerfed because it was OP compared to the other t3d’s.
This is no different to the rorqual changes being nerfed when they first came out, because a bunch of people in delve mass deployed them to the point the game was being negatively impacted.
The thing tha should anger people is that CCP did a terrible job of setting expectations when they explicitly stated at a previous CSM summit that changing respawn timers at a means of addressing the unsustainable bounty situation was off the table.
This is potentially where most of the dislike for the change comes from. Nobody in the big blue doughnut is going to like changes to the mechanics that will cause their constituents to agitate for borders to shift, certainly not changes that might be seen by their PvP players as having to do things for nullbear PvE players and renters.
You are trying so hard but even Forrest Gump achieved more than you
Who can explain me why Rally points respawn is 20 minutes and Havens or Forsaken hubs have 10-11 minutes?
You don’t really ubderstand the concept of inflation, do you? Inflation means, that more Isk comes in then goods get produced, thus they get more expensive, because more ISK is in the game. PI actually does the reverse, it causes deflation, because it produces goods. And MTU’s just collect goods, but the same applies here. Please do your homework on how inflation is caused before mindlessly commenting on it. Thx.
@Tau_Phoenix
Automated systems are fine when they act for the sake of convenience more than profit.
What I mean is; no-risk, repetitive, non-interactive effort should not exist in any game. Salvaging is not something one would do because they’re interested in it. If you found a whole bunch of empty wrecks that drop no loot when salvaged, you’d skip it.
MTUs and salvage drones are this game’s version of item pickup range or auto-loot. And although far from either, those spare us the frustration of waiting to be allowed to play again. It’s like watching ads.
You can’t compare that to PI. Some people do PI for fun, as a minigame. The resulting profit is a nice bonus and encouragment.
Flipping items on the market ain’t much different in that sense. People enjoy it as a mini-game.
Same with Project Discovery.
Mini-games are always welcome. It’s like fishing in some other games.
But I get what you mean and you’re right. The point is that restricting content affects players’ will to further engage with the game.
What CCP is trying to achieve here is “make life harder for botters”. “Getting rid of inflation” will resolve itself after that. Botters wouldn’t mind automating salvaging even without access to MTUs or drones, so changing that won’t do much else except make the community angrier.
@CCP:
Less botters => less inflation => everything costs less isk (plex included) => more alphas demanding plex from the market => more players in space => livelier community => more enjoyable game => players paying to support the developers instead of paying just to get in-game stuff
Feel free to start at any point in that chain. You’ll notice that restricting content doesn’t help, be it missions availability or site cooldowns. Neither of those solutions leads to “less botters”, either. You know… Since the solutions are just as effective against regular players. The prices will drop, but so will the buying power of your average capsuleer.

I recall when they announced the Rorq changes they said they wanted to make them more boosting centric in belt and as such were going to increase boosting power to offset their direct mining power. Which seemed like a decent offset to reduce the invincibility and omnipotence of rorqs while enhancing their role as capital mining support.
Am I remembering this incorrectly? And did this happen? I do not see anything except nerfs in the patch notes… seemingly nerfs for everything in the game…
From the upcoming April 9th release notes:
* Increased the bonus to mining foreman burst strength provided by the Industrial Core to 30% for T1 Cores and 36% for T2 (was 25% and 30% respectively)
There are several other nerfs and buffs as part of the balancing as well in that section of the notes.
Missed that one – thanks that was exactly what I was looking for
