If you dont charge broker fee for the consumer you are handicapping the market
Old model: Sales tax and broker fees applied randomly /s
New model: No salex tax but broker fee applied to any sale on the buyer and seller side
Old Model: Complicated
New model: Simple
The current system is better, where fees are paid by the traders who set up buy and sell orders.
This means that traders can invest in better trading skills and standings with the faction theyâre trading at, while simple customers like myself who sell or buy to standing orders donât have to care about trading skills, because Iâm not a trader.
Seems much more logical and fair to me.
You are delusional
When will you learn to listen and reason, instead of only sending your opinions and insults?
You pick things that support your opinion or argument and ignore everything else. Thats delusion
I explain why I like the current system better than your idea.
Instead of listening to these other views and starting a discussion you start insulting me. You are terrible at presenting your ideas and will rarely if ever get support for them this way.
You are delusional why would anyone listen to you?
Many people here on the forums do, even those who disagree with me. Youâre an exception.
Stop trying to spread delusion please
If you use a buy order to obtain trit at 4,11 it will cost you more than if you bought from a sell order at 4,12
This seems like another thing that leads to low liquidity and/or big spreads
Yes, fees will cause a small gap between sell orders and buy orders.
A fun fact is that this gap is part of what allows specialized traders to make money in EVE, because with better trade skills and better faction standings you can profit at a smaller gap than others.
Contracts have lower fees than if you used the market and a private contract has a small fixed fee.
For example if i sell a Scorpion Navy Issue in Jita market the total tax will be 38M at the moment but if i sell it using a Private Contract the total tax is only 10k ISK.
Why are fees such a mess?
Have you found out yet why EVE has these fees?
It might help your case if you know what you are arguing against.
The fees are a mess and if you support that you are a mess
Great argument!
Thank you
Fees are a mess. For example if you use a sell order to sell something you pay broker fee + sale tax. But if you sell something to a buy order you only pay sales tax. But if you use a buy order to buy something you only pay broker fee. and if you buy something from a sell order you pay no fees at all.
And thats not all. If you put something for sale you pay a fee before it has sold and if it doesent sell then the fee is wasted. If you want to change the price you have to pay a fee again and if it doesent sell the fee is wasted. This makes people less likely to stock stations including Jita.
There are more issues with the way fees are implemented but lets keep it short?
What could the solution be. A 3% broker fee on both sides of a transaction only after it has taken place. For example if you purchase something in Jita the seller will pay 3% broker fee and the buyer will pay 3% broker fee. There will be no sales tax and there was no fee for the seller until he sold something. At the end of the day the ISK sink will be the same, if not bigger, but people are not going to feel bad for using the market.
What about accounting skill if sales tax is removed? I propose to change it so Broker Relations reduced broker fees by 5% per level and Accounting reduces broker fees by 5% per level. Afaik this makes broker fees as low as 1.5% at max skills.
If the fee situation isnt resolved i think shortages and price spikes are going to become more and more common. Lets discuss or not.
Hell no!
Instead the fees, costs and other risk should be increased. Would keep the iskflation in check and esports aspirants would eat dust fast.
Too complicated? Maybe the big boi market play is not for you. Eve is a dystopian capitalism simulator after all.
I take it you must be North American economy? You see in Europe the seller always pays the âsales taxesâ which is how it should be. It isnât called a buyers tax or a consumers tax after all. The last time I was in Paris, I was surprised to buy items in shops and something mark 10 ⏠was actually 10 ⏠at checkout! Makes it a ton easier to shop.
I will recommend you steer clear of Black Desert we have over a 30% tax on items sold, but if you sub a Value Pack for $15 US per month the tax is reduced to 15%. This game is pretty tame on taxes.
Have fun!
