I just wanted to give everyone the heads up that if you were previously using FSR1, you may need to choose this new upscaling option in your client settings.
MetalFX offers much better quality than FSR1, and the performance increase is very noticeable. I’d love to hear your feedback
Thanks for the note on discontinuing FSR1 support. I didn’t catch that in the Sisi test.
I’m a bit surprised to see it removed since it was just a fancy Lanczos upscaler. But I wasn’t planning on using it since MetalFX should be better anyhow.
In my case MetalFX upscaling with either Ultra Quality or Ultra Performance setting leads to greater CPU load compared to Anti-Aliasing at high and turned off upscaling. And that’s with deterioration in image quality. I used to use previously available FSR upscaling but now it’s much better to switch it off.
Thanks for the feedback. Could you provide a bit more detail: What resolution are you using, is there a specific part of the game you’re seeing this, what how are you measuring your CPU use (Activity Monitor?), what is the frequency of the screen (and are you using v-sync).
is there any chance at some point the eve client will be available as app for use in iPad os? Since the new iPad Pro are using the same ship and can be connected to larger displays is that something you ever considered in the future?
