If your track record is so good why are no people who have been on CSM with you coming to endorse you, why didn’t CCP pick you last year as one of the picked candidates?
Why can you only cite one change (bowhead) you have got through CCP after being on multiple CSMs, when people on the current CSM can cite multiple? It is a bit shitty to throw shade at other people who actually seem to a give a ■■■■ about understanding and knowing the game while you just want to be a glorified suggestion box, a role that all other CSM members tend to do as well.
Mike, I will vote for you. As my 18 months here has demonstrated that you really do care about what happens in the game. If they structure the vote as they did last year. You will be at the top of the list. Will have to see what the rest have to say for themselves.
Wish I could afford to travel to Iceland myself. Otherwise I would be seriously considering running myself.
Belvar have you ever ran for the CSM? If so, did you lose? Just curious is all. Nothing more than that.
I was kind of surprised that you did not get elected last year to CSM. You did a great job all the time to keep the community updated about what happened on CSM and so on. Would really like to see that again.
Afaik you can attend the summit virtually, unless they change that.
I reread and you are right. All I do need is a passport. So I will look to do this next year and start the process of getting a passport next month. Already paid bills and do not have the $165.00 for the fees laying around. With another year under my belt I will be a little more familiar with the game.
The others are right, the flight and hotel are paid for.
The downside is that the trip is in Feb. which means it is a bit chilly and less touristy but there IS a far better chance of seeing the Northern lights. On summit days lunch is the cafeteria at CCP and they do food well. The hotel they put us up at had breakfast included so only a few dinners did you have to pay for. (and alcohol, if you drink)
But understand that this is a ‘working trip’. You are in the offices and meeting with CCP folks all week and it is a full week.
and yet? I want to do it again . . . so I would appreciate your vote, preferably near the top of the ballot.
As I posted before. Yes Mike, you will be at the top of the list…This year… Maybe next year you will be the second choice… After me of course.
I have done a busman holiday before. Have no problem with that. I would have to work out some RL details, that I am not going to share here on a public forum. Would look forward to going to Iceland. Perhaps meeting you there as well.
Hey Mike, nice to see, that you at least read my post. Thank you very much vor that. Well i am not running this year (i am to busy, doing other ■■■■). and so, i wish you good luck on that. And i hope you will make it into the CSM again. As an old veteran i really appreciate your behaviour, and even as CSM Veteran, unluckily dont make it into the CSM last year, but i am sure you make it this year.
I know there is some NDA, but just tell me, is that 2007/8 stuff still ongoing ? A simple yes or no is ok for me
Every year we have the tar brush to try to invalidate candidates. Last year it was ‘do you even play?’ and references to zkill. This year the brush seems to be ‘your platform was written by chat gpt.’
Evaluate the player, what they stand for an maybe if they have experience in what they claim to represent. Some candidates have walked the walk and have the history to prove it. Others will say that they are all about communication when their forum thread is their first post in months.
Accuse if you wish . . . there are a lot of really good candidates out in the race. You should find it easy to find someone who you think will do a good job for you and yours. I just hope that I am on that list as well.
m
keeping it real? I used spellcheck on the above post. Is that too AI?
Let’s say that you knew for certain (somehow) that a candidate did have ChatGPT write their post. Would that make you question their candidacy?
Posts written by LLMs are pretty clear. Certainly no one would suggest that there is anything wrong with using spell check, because the function of spell check is to convey your own ideas more clearly.
I think that comparing this with LLMs with a false equivalency. ChatGPT-written posts are representing computer-generated words as their own original thought. Why would I want to vote for a candidate who cannot think for themselves?
Lets see…..Mike who doesn’t play the game, doesn’t understand that game and who’s only engagement is handing out poorly fit t1 ship….wants to ‘represent players’ at CSM….
From reading this CSM post, Mikes previous previous posts, and CSM minutes it appears the only contrtribution Mike has ever had to CSM was comments like “cool” and pushing for ore freighter (wow!!! am i right guys?).
I once asked Mike about high-sec ganking (one of the ‘features’ that ruins the game for new players - who he claims to represent) and Mike stated “Its part of the game”. He genuinly thought that this is a reasonably justification. With that logic, why ever change anything???
Why should anyone vote for you Mike? what engagement have you had with the game in the last 20 years? (I can’t help notice that you have two solo kills, a rifter in 2012 and a thrasher in 2009), and you’ve done a handful of F1 fleets….does this really make a person suitable for CSM???
