I tried out a fleet of 16 mining alts once. Why couldnt I use covetors? Because the systems that i vacuumed had players who called it home and they would defend it with dessi ganks. Thats proper game play…outside of CCP killing the real fight by not allowing them to war dec me. Yes, CCP I blame you. If you want the exact details of how and why since 2016 of what you did to ruin it, just ask. Short answer, War HQs.
Good miners should and do have gank alts but even better… the abilty to war dec hostile entities or hire mercs. There should be no way to hide or cover up my otherwise blatant acts of war.

Reminds me of WoW. They made all servers PVE. Enemy faction could then come to your land, harvest your nodes, and nothing you could do.

They made all nodes personal to your client, this way horde and ally could SHARE the nodes in a dedicated PvP zone. How fkn dumb is that? Absolutely ruined the entire point of resource conflicts in an mmo static world. Competition should not be a problem, it is the solution.
So they doubled down on stupid
Maybe together they all bought a faction-wide mining permit.

Mining Ore vs Mining salt?
They’re both pretty safe activities, for those with no real sense of adventure. Ganking in high sec allows a person to feel tough without taking any real risks.
I mean: this is still a video game, so the word “risk” is relative.

I’m not a miner or a ganker. I either do my hunting in low/nul or I hunt down criminal scum… like gankers. This game has so many outlets to lose ships. Gankers wanna pretend the game would become some haven without them but realistically it’s not true. They just want to feel important like everyone does.
You are confused.
The criminal scum you speak of are not scum atall , but actually Enforcement Officers. The actual criminal scum are those that mine ore without a permit and must pay the price.
