Mining Changes?

The highest-yield mining ship in the game isn’t meant to be used in an unprotected environment without scouts and logistics on standby.

Also, even if they doubled the Hulk’s EHP, it wouldn’t get ganked any less than it does today. Only a very small amount of edge cases would be eliminated, where there’s just one ganker using one account. Most individual gankers have more than one account, and a second Catalyst wouldn’t be a tangible cost barrier.

I think the smartest strategy is to go for max yield and factor in some loss to gankers.

Or just mine smart. It ain’t hard.

Forcing the miners out of thier Orcas and Rorquas back into thier barges is great. For too long they have been allowed to AFK mine in safety in these ships.

It would be nice for someone to organise a new Hulkageddon event in celebration of this change.

Also, some have been critical of the gas, ice, ore hold changes. But it makes perfect sense to me

Transporting gas, ore or ice all require different types of container, you dont see a CO2 tanker picking up a load of iron ore do you now?

Gas - pressurised container
Ore - reinforced structure to allow for the weight of the ore
Ice - refrigerated storage (assuming that the ice is still icy once it is mined, does anyone know the answer? I have sadly never had the joy of mining a block of ice for half a day)

LOL.

In the game world, it would be just open to space.
Ice stays icy automatically.
