Mining Hold Alert

Miners would love an Available Mining hold Alert setting.

Everyone else in the game would love miners to pay attention to the game.

99.999999999999999999% of complaints would vanish overnight if they simply did this.

CCP doesn’t need to remind you to alt-tab back to the client every few minutes.

Well lets step it up a notch, Auto Compression then, lol its kind of like auto targeting missiles, you click it and it just works sometimes.

Why would we?

Some of us don’t mine afk and actually take notice of how much we mined by having the hold open.

Well for those of us that have a life at home other than Eve Online, it would benefit us now and then. Distractions happen.

This could be said about the other alerts too tho?

Everyone else in the game would love PvXers to pay attention to the game.

CCP doesn’t need to remind you to turn on rep every few minutes.

That’s what the dock button is for.

Shield/Armor alerts are for one of many things you need to keep track of during combat.

Your mining hold is one of four total things miners need to pay attention to, along with Local, Overview, and D-scan if necessary.

Let me state this again, since you didn’t get it the first time, CCP doesn’t need to code you a reminder to alt-tab back from Netflix.

It’s great to see all the opinions of everyone on here. I appreciate the feedback. But when it come down to it, this game only survives by you, me and all of the new and loyal Eve Online players around the world that believe in continuing to improve this great game in every aspect. After this last update, I believe CCP has seen how important it is to enhance the fabric of New Eden, aka Mining. And this is an option you personally don’t have to click.

So you’re AFK Mining and you’re more worried about how full your hold is instead of how many holes have been shot in your ship?

There is already a sound notification when it is full, so I don’t see any benefit adding another sound notification

Yes you are absolutely correct except for the afk part, I rarely leave my computer unattended. But cats knock things over, kids throw things, the wife needs something, life happens. And getting to enjoy a little Eve Online for 30-45 mins a day is relaxing to me when I have the time.

All I’m saying is it would help to have an alert at what ever percentage you want for your mining hold. I’m human not a bot, sometimes I forget to compress what’s in my hold while I’m looking at Zkill at a neut that just entered the system I’m in. With smaller holds on some ships and faster cycle times now with this new update and bonus mining amounts at random times. As miners know once your hold fills up all mining modules and drones disengage. Yes it’s not the end of the world, but it is annoying. Having a simple customizable alert, like you already have for everything else would prevent this for those of us that casually mine and are sitting right in front of our computer. Please remember this is more directed at the use of compression in fleets. I think it’s pretty safe to say that every miner in New Eden has forgotten to hit compress before there hold filled up at some point. It’s a creature comfort and anything that makes the game more enjoyable and doesn’t unbalance the game play for everyone is a thumbs up for me.

The code is already in the game for cargo holds. How hard would it be for another alert to be set for mining holds? I fail to see why everyone is freaking out about this. It’s a small quality-of-life issue. CCP already made this quality-of-life fix for cargo holds, why not mining holds?

I fail to see why you’d need it in the first place.

First, you know exactly how many cycles it takes to fill your hold, so you can do some basic math and set a timer.

Second, you don’t need either of these if you pay attention to the game while playing it.

If miners weren’t paying attention then they wouldn’t hear the alert noise no?

If miners were paying attention, they’d know before any alert was ever triggered that their hold was about to be full.

Then again, if miners paid attention to the game, highsec ganking wouldn’t exist either. You just can’t convince some people that they are the cause of their problems.
