Hello there,
I am Misty Dawn253 and i hope to be able to bring new life to the insurgency and low sec in general with it. As of right now, a new patch just dropped that focused heavily on the insurgency, and i believe it’s a push in the right direction but i think it can be even more. I believe that there needs to be objectives for both sides of the conflict to fight over, that are meaningful enough that capsuleers have a reason to stand and fight for their complexes, making faction warfare more of a war. I appreciate the work that has already been done by previous CSMs and want to continue giving low sec a voice, a voice for solo players, for faction warfare enjoyers but also the ones who enjoy the bigger wars that tear across low sec.
My EVE Online Story
I have started EVE in 2024, only 2 years ago, but in that time i have had a some of the best time in a video game in my life. I started as a humble high sec mission runner, and luckily decided to go join a corp relatively soon, which brought me to lowsec mining. I stayed for a while in aridia, but after i went on vacation we had gotten evicted from there, but we joined a little pirate alliance in huola and decided to move in closer with them. Just a few weeks later i joined theese pirates on a gatecamp and i was slowly sold on pvp. As time progressed i was mining less and less and doing more pvp, but more importantly i was starting to show initiative and started hosting small roams of my own. As the Alliance started to die down, i decided to leave ship and make my own corp, entirely from scratch, i wanted to have a new bro friendly corp within the angel cartel, since i believed it was good content to begin with. The other important aspect for me was always lgbtq friendliness and i try my best to stand up for the queer voices within the community. It took a while but i was starting to get members, and with them also more and more experience as a fleet commander, which made me eventually reach out to an alliance called Sedition to take us in. Within Sedition our corp truly started blooming, we were able to run bigger content, but also always have people avaiable for small gang stuff, or just friends to hang out with for solo flying. Since then i am still in Sedition and have risen the ranks to a skirmish FC, am part of the leadership team and an avid angel cartel enthusiast.
My Areas of Expertise
In general i have not left my little bubble of low sec too much, but i am very far engrained with it’s depths. But even outside of that, i have already engaged with industry, mining and a bit of nullsec content.
Faction Warfare
This is my main area of expertise, i know how most of the mechanics work and how they effect each other. I am mostly seeing things through the lense of pirate faction warfare, specifically angels and have practically been in angels ever since i’ve moved to huola in late 2024.
Unstructured PvP
I have been a fleet commander for small gang PvP for most of my eve career, i understand what calls need to be done and when a situation is unfavorable. In my opinion the most important thing however is having fun, and i believe that especially small gang, unstructured PvP is extremely fun and hopefully is one of the main avenues to retain people coming into low sec.
Ships, Gameplay, and the HUD
I fly most ship types, from the smallest frigate to the big battleships, however i do not have any experience flying capital ships yet. I have a relatively deep understanding of the mechanics that determine ship matchups, ship fits and doctrine selection. I cannot say too much about the HUD, i have only ever known the current iteration of it, but for me it presents all information in a clear and conceise way and i hope the new HUD builds upon it.
Industry and Markets
I engage rather limited with Industry and the Market, i buy ships and i sell parts that i scrape off shipwrecks, but that’s about it. In the past, i have tried to make my isk with Industry but that didn’t go too well.
Sovereignty management and logistics
Here i have the least experience in, i have never been part of a sov holding alliance, nor have i ever engaged in warfare around sov.
Highsec and the new-player experience
I have not spent much time in high sec myself, but i believe that the new player experience has drastically improved over the past years. Additionally i think that faction warfare is an excellent springboard to keep new players interested in the game, it is very dynamic, gives an easy access to PvP and can be quite lucrative.
The connection between EVE Online and EVE Vanguard
I have not played much of Vanguard, shooters just aren’t my thing i must admit. But i do believe that there should be a noticeable link betweeen the two games, making both sides care about the other.
Why am i running for CSM?
In my relatively short time as a capsuleer i have seen how much the community impacts this game, and also how much people want to have their voice heard wiith wonderful ideas or honest feedback. I wanted to give back, by being a down to the ground, always open, community represantative. I also think that the queer community deserves to keep having a voice in new eden. I also believe that the insurgency could be so much more than just a way to farm some isk and be otherwise mostly ignored, i think we could have some great, dynamic insurgencies in the future.
What can Players expect from me?
I will always try my best to listen, i know that i will never be all knowing, and as such other opinions are important to make sure we all get the eve we deserve. My dm’s will always be open for concerns, ideas and other inquiries. In general i hope we can achieve great things together and hope i can help you all make eve a better place.
If you got any questions regarding my campaign, or want to reach out for any other reason, my corp’s discord is always publicly avaiable (given one doesnt break the rules) and i am also findable on the public angel cartel discord.
