I am pretty sure it was this one, actually. I just don’t know why you’re going along with it, with your BS polls.
I’m upset because I was going to referee and it was going to be so fun. Until it all fell apart. And it fell apart because of the Amarr’s deceit and inability to just admit they don’t want the two to wrestle.
So? I mean, not for nothing, Sami, but what business of yours is it what they choose to do? They’re adults, they can make their own decisions. Participating in an athletic competition is no more ‘undignified’ than participating in killing people out in space by floating around naked or nearly-naked in a vat of viscous goo with tubes stuck up your crotch. Don’t see any of you railing against Amarr being pilots.
They’re upper class and have responsibilities because of that. If they want to act like commoners, then they can hand their titles to someone else.
They’re also members of a corporation and their actions reflect on that corporation.
Besides, why were they trying to butt in and take the spotlight away from who this thread was actually about in the first place? Not that it was very appropriate for those two either.
The constant attempts by people to rebrand this into something other than what literally everyone knows it is, in attempt to throw off detractors, is getting on my nerves. It is not an innocent, wholesome event and it wasn’t meant to be when this whole thing was arranged. Do any ■■■■■■■ Galnet search on it and you’ll get a million searches for what people are actually expecting. Hell, the title of this thread was “Shipping/Catfight”. It’s obvious what this whole thing was meant to be and trying to claim otherwise is very disingenuous.
Yes, and Utari was fulfilling his responsibilities, as he was “volunteered” for the match by his liege after suggesting an undercard as the sporting event developed and details were worked out. That whiole ‘undercard’ thing is pretty standard, and it helps sell tickets.
Is your side of the fence. While the intial interaction (not the match) was flirtatious on one side, the match was first suggested as a means of resolving differences, and developed into a sporting event on the strength of the betting. Trying to make this—especially the Constantin/Utari match—out to be some kind of thinly-veiled orgy is pretty low.
I’m pretty sure it was brought up as a joke, by Valerie. Just because you don’t like what kind of sporting competition they settled on, that doesn’t automatically mean it’s all about sex. It just means that’s where your mind went.
And? The liege lord seemed fine with that, and he hasn’t made any statements claiming error. So if he’s ok taking responsibility for that, let him. Again: he’s an adult. He can make his own decisions without you acting like you have any authority to scold him or otherwise act like his mom.
Also…
Just to point this out, Sami, you’ve defended the idea of Amarr being combat pilots. Of all the issues you’ve gotten mad about, Amarr capsuleers fighting in the warzone (or anywhere else) has never been one of them. You’ve gotten mad about the things they’ve fought for, like in Kahah et al, but you’ve not expressed any kind of ‘people with titles like Sir Utari shouldn’t be combat pilots’ sentiment.
And really, it seems kinda weird that you’d now claim to be against people whose title is literally ‘ennobled combat retainer’ being combatants.
I’ve noticed a trend of Amarrian women acting like everyone’s mothers. It’s getting annoying and old. “I don’t like it, so you cannot do it” is not acceptable.
Again… apparently you don’t actually know me very well, or listen to what I say. Because my stance against cloning and capsuleers has been very clear. In fact… I do believe the first time we ever even talked was when I was shouting down your beloved Max Singularity for his pro-capsuleer/pro-cloning declarations.
But whatever, I’ll leave the thread in peace now. I was only here to dispel ■■■■■■■■ accusations anyway.
Nor is raging against the existence of independent capsuleers the same as saying that the Amarr shouldn’t have them. Even discounting clearly non-‘independent’ groups like PIE, Navy capsuleers exist. They’re part of the strictly-controlled hierarchy. They still float around near starkers in goopy slime, killing people.
It’ll be a fun read through and through. It was maybe a little less fun to live.

I’ve said more than enough on most of the topics here. But I do want to point out ONCE AGAIN that flirting with someone should not automatically suggest that I’m a whore in every other way. I know where the ■■■■■■■ line is, okay? When the talk about a mud-wrestling competition became serious, and people started throwing around billions, I put my pro face on. And I think that’s pretty obvious in this thread. (Trust me, if I hadn’t done that, Utari’s liege would have told me.)
So the fact that people keep making this comment like “It’s a fetish!” is extremely insulting in a very personal way. Like, really? Did you think I was gonna make out with Mizhir in the mud or something? Even after I told her that it wouldn’t be like that, and even after I pointed out that I’m not into exhibitionism?
By the way, the point that mud wrestling is done for the fetish aspect ignores the fact that different people have different turn-ons. Know what else gets fetishized? Teachers. The Interbus. Baby food. Seriously, go look all of that up. There’s porn for it.
So gtfo of here with your comments on my sexuality and professionalism, and stop trying to graft your personal ideas of “is this pr0n?” onto the rest of us. This event is cancelled. Congrats, you done great. Now go find a child’s birthday party to ruin.
IGS Narrator : And so it was, that the seeds of division inadvertently sown by Valerie, blossomed into a mighty hedge, driving a barrier between people who once considered each other friends.
IGS Narrator : But did she learn anything from this episode ? The answer, is no. Until next time. outro music plays.
I hear you. It seems to me a position between “pure contest of skill” and “fetish-bait” is closer to reasonable, but that this isn’t even the reason the fight was canceled, so the argument is tedious to watch.
