I agree with Aphrodite’s sentiment. Sometimes cleaning up 100 posts (which is a very welcome alternative to closing threads) isn’t enough - it needs to be followed up with an ISD-issued statement (a warning or pre-warning) asserting that certain behavior needs to desist - in this instance, certain individuals extensively bickering on matters not relevant to the thread persisting even after bickering posts were cleaned up. Bickering needs to be differentiated from bantering, however: bantering hasn’t usually been problematic on the forums since that rarely derails a thread to the extent that the thread can’t get back on topic (especially since those bantering are usually meaningful participants in the threads themselves), but bickering makes it very difficult to get back on topic, even if the bickering parties are ignored.

Moderators do a wonderful job and should be granted a free one week vacation in the Bahamas, paid by CCP for all their hard work.
Absolutely! No one works harder than these dedicated volunteers. The grief they are forced to put up with on a daily basis is more than any one man should have to carry.

I fail to see, when opinions are so polarised with the majority of posters, how anything productive can come from it.
It serves only for two sides to yell about “themmuns” while those of us in the middle are pushed into sides by the louder bayers.

I’m well aware, but you also have the option of not taking the bait and staying out of the Kenny Loggins area. We’ve been pretty lenient so far, but once warnings start going out, that should be our indication that you should shape up.
