This constant “bias” argument is really getting old.
One just needs to look at this thread to see that individuals in both “camps” are being treated with leniency. There is no bias. There are just some individuals who keeps “pushing the line” that seems to then result in silences. Which seems to be the intention of the rules and what the modding has always been.
Could the rules be slightly modified to more clearly express this? Yes, and I do hope that ISD/CCP are working on the rules to better convey the conduct they wish on the forums.
There are alts intended to circumvent bans to resume being the same person, and there are alts having distinct and well-encapsulated personas that do not bleed onto one another. I’m inclined to think the first should have multi-account moderation for violating the purpose of the ban, and the second per-character moderation since the other personas aren’t in violation and the player in question is unlikely to replicate that behavior on existing personas (provided they don’t roll a new persona to replace the one being banned)
The only place this should matter is the IGS as an in character location. And only for in character offences.
Everywhere else the player is speaking, not the character. So the player should be punished.
Cool. But I have to wonder if those rules changed since post 694 where you replied to DC asking
With this:
Or is it your opinion that if you have two openly Sol characters and one keeps posting, that’s not evasion whereas if you have two characters not openly Sol and one keeps posting then it is evasion?
It has been closed and reopened several times a week for cleaning. A lot has been said and has been saved for our rework of the forum rules to better suit the community while at the same time making it easier and less work for the CCP Community Team and ISD.
With that said, this thread reached a point where people were simply repeating them selves or it devolved into personal attacks or back and forth arguing that was not related to the topic.
Congratulations to Bo Greckson for post 1337. This thread is now permanently closed.
