MODS PLEASE LOCK - Jim’s ruined another one 👍

What are you talking about?

She was talking about the removal of other forms of hisec PvP (besides ganking) and you asked what other forms there are and I’ve provided a list.

She claims only blobs and buildings are left, as I understand this refers to ganks and structure bashes, which on my list is criminals, wardecs and maybe FW (if they are grouping up on a target) but does not include duels, suspects and FW (non-blob).

My reply was in context of the prior posts.

You know as well as I do what the context of my question was.

You rightly pointed out at least the list of current existing forms of PVP that still exist.

Mina what other forms of PVP in high sec have been removed ?

Criminal flags and Duels work fine. The issue is how other mechanics over the past 15 years were hollowed out of organic Highsec conflict:

  • Wardecs: Players want ship-versus-ship combat in self-fitted hulls, not boring structure bashing. The War HQ mechanic kills small-scale hunting by turning wars into mandatory structure fights. Now, only one major war corp remains because the mechanic creates a strict pyramid of power with zero room for competition. (the result of null lobby groups because it places the blob on top for all K space to be able to form and fight easily)
  • Suspects: This mechanic is a gimmick. It acts as a blanket punishment for engaging in PvP, opening a single player to a universal dogpile instead of facilitating organic interaction.
  • Faction Warfare: This replaces meaningful, player-driven wars with tedious, NPC-focused chores. Veterans stay for emotional investment in organic conflict, not a boring NPC grind.

Eliminating small-scale PvP for mechanics that only favor structure bashes or gank blobs removes the exact playstyle it needs to grow.

(This is Mina trying to answer your question Kage… Phone vs Desktop. What was removed? The best PvP we had because it was a threat to nullsec tax income. (will talk openly about this) Yes Uriel, I appreciate the highsec side of FW pilots fighting. My complaint toward FW may be a little unfair because I saw it as CCP trying to force our PvP into ■■■■ styles which at the time it was…and it has improved a lot.)

I was referring to FW in context of hisec, namely when faction pilots of one faction hunt pilots of other factions in neutral, friendly or even hostile hisec space. At extreme cases FW pilots even station camp trade hubs of hostile factions and blow up FW enlisted pilots in their own backyard (yes including Dodixie and even Jita itself).

:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

This also stop large corps “whaling” on small corps for the Lulz, the small corps have a way of avoiding that now by simply not deploying an upwell structure. Stops the war dec mechanics being used as a means to Grief small corps.

You could just try not attacking MCU’s or taking stuff that isnt yours?

Themed PVP you can still do other forms of it

The best compromise will happen in this fashion: I gave you my perspective, and you gave me yours. That is the end of it, so let others decide. One or the other isn’t wrong.

We need to fix old issues in new ways instead of letting the damage of past mechanic choices hinder us. I’ve had this conversation a hundred times, to be honest. It always goes back to the same issue—the small guys who have nothing. They aren’t even a CEO of a single-member corp. They are so afraid that Blackflag will wardec them that they give up all freedom and all opportunity for everyone else, just to stay locked down and safe behind a wall.

I agree with this 100%. Are you not in the HC Discord? I have been making precisely this argument for some time.

Practically any activity can be PvP. Miners competing for ore or gas might not involve explosions but it most definitely is a form of combat, as is trying to get the best price. Traders compete with each other. Buyers compete for the best prices. In the truest sense, this is all ‘player versus player’.

you just suggested that replacing wars between players in ships is just as good as miners competing for the best rocks? … i see you typing old man lol

Nah…I’m simply agreeing with what Captain Benzie says at this point in his video…

damn… now i got to watch this. fine. lol. Yup, he seems veyr smart. imma sub. lol. i love how he goes on. hes right.

I like him, as he makes points and I think ’ hmm…I’ve never seen it that way but he is right’

thats the kind of streamer we need. he makes a good point about keeping a small percent of people and expecting most to try it and leave. He is exactly right.

There IS a link between boredom and players leaving EVE.

Thats why the moment a group declares an offensive war (requiring a War HQ Structure), this group should become wareccable by everyone (not requiring a War HQ Structure).

If someone wants to make a business out of farming structures of weaker groups, he should be ready to get jumped on by everyone who doesn’t really like that.

we already have this, it is called assists, have you heard about assists? You dont need a hq for this

I know about assists, the point is that they are overly complex. The moment the war ends, the assistance ends and you need to look fo the next guys they have wardecced and offer the next assistance. It’s fine as a tool to negotiate help for a specific attacked group (often for a fee), but not much more.

It would be much easier if a group would be freely waredeccable without HQ requirement as long as they have any ongoing offensive war.

Nah. The days of you simply speaking of pvp as if it’s an unwanted activity is over. Everyone in space will not serve as protection and punishment for your desire to never interact. Exordium was made for you. The rest of us are pvp enabled and prefer it. No more universal dog piles.

Nice. We finally get someone to speak that matters…imagine that. Amazing how this ■■■■ works. Assist only helps nullsec to hide property under holding corps and then decide to reveal themselves later if they like. Lets see you try to go out and randomly attack holding corps. FAFO. And then they will simply pile the BLOB on of other nullsec entities when its easy for them to do so. Oh and your war HQ? thats gone. Total Isk value? All the other wars and all your members play styles ruined…who cares right? They knock on your shield with one guy in one ship until your members dont respond. Then what comes next? A massive blob of ■■■■ from no where show up so fast that no other timers matter on any other property. Thats sharing risk? This is simply another anti-pvp outdated concept. If you want players to have Citadels and experience this content. Dogpiles are the exact opposite of how to get this.

No. That’s how it is supposed to work, but in reality it is commonly used as a baiting tactic.

i.e. shooting MTU, or looting yellow cans, to encourage someone to attack you.

It’s also used the other way round in can baiting.

But it’s not just a blanket punishment.
