I know it has a very small benefit, So what? This is a seperate activity for solo pilots that war corps will not engage with on a regular basis. Its against rules in some. Its fun sometimes but its meant as world punishment for unwanted activity. Criminal status IS NOT the answer. The idea of using criminal flags on any pvp has driven many games into populations of less than 100 people.
The Friendship Multiplier: Data consistently proves that the single highest retention factor in EVE is social interaction. Experiencing conflict, tracking targets, or joining a fleet bonds players to the game. Insulating players in static, solo environments causes them to burn out from a lack of human engagement.
Just pointing out that it’s use is wider than you stated, and it too has been nerfed over the years, it was better when it only made the looter flashy to the owner/corp of the wreck/can.
I don’t have much recent experience of highsec wars, but noone likes structure grinds.
I guess the question is how do we have un-wardeccable corps without structures?
“I guess the question is how do we have un-wardeccable corps without structures?”@Lucy_Alfrir
Whatever idea anyone has… that simply doesnt work out 100% in the favour of OLD massive coalitions that shouldnt exist anymore. Forget buildings being connected to war mechanics. I would ask this question to Masty. My information will be older compared to his. What do you think? How do we limit the smallest corps from being war decced so hard they quit game? You know I collect hatemails… but this is the actual issue. The smallest guy needs a little protection while not handing the power over to blobs, nullsec and bashing buildings. A limit on total wars? A cooldown effect? Let them go to Exordium?
How does highsec once again become the place where corps grow instead of the only choice being to join PH (#fuph) in nullsec and press F1 or Die.
Brave is a prime example of how to abuse mechanics in your favour. How many highsec non war eli players that can still fight in null and still fly freely in highsec that are really just members of Brave? Got issues now with those ansiblex changes?? How many cits in holding corps to accomplish this? Isnt that convenient. Its almost as if previous decisions were only working for nullsec. (edit to not interrupt) Aiko, I also agree that CEOS only should decide when war ends after its been declared. It is players choice.
Moreover, it’s completely asinine that the only party who benefits from a wartarget making a war mutual is the original aggressor. The possibility that a wartarget might go You’re-locked-in-here-with-me should instead be perceived as a risk the aggressor has to consider.
The Russo-Ukrainian and Drumpfo-Iranian wars both reflect the reality that an aggressor cannot simply start a fight, and then declare victory. The defender absolutely should have a say in whether a war is over, and they should be able to continue the fight. It can take time for a smaller force to prepare a strike against a larger blob, but the war dec rules currently prevent this, giving the Absolute Flag blob an unreasonable advantage over smaller groups.
@Aiko_Danuja This issue is the exact same for everyone from the smallest group to the largest… Absolutely Everyone is effected and the blob rules them all because the out-dated rules are designed to facilitate it. Its a top-down power structure with an easy attack option for anyone who falls out of line and a huge isk sink for anyone who tries.
I agree, it’s a bad system. EvE clearly has a problem with blobbing, leading to tidi and server crashes. CCP continually caters to the large blobs, and the so-called CSM is dominated by the blobs and advocates for the blobs. The game will be vastly improved if CCP makes more effort to fracture these groups and force them to fight one another instead of creating a giant blue blob.
Wardecs are decidedly not fine, just look at how few corps actually own their own structures. Aiko’s proposed wardec mechanics wouldn’t negatively impact carebears, but would allow corps that want to engage in wardecs to do so more readily. It’s just a sensible way to handle things.
@kage1982 Pretty sure if you read through this thread you’ll see plenty of reasons and people who are making valid points. I see you asking questions and they’ve already been asked and answered. I just checked… We all get it. You want no pvp and you also don’t want to live in Exordium. You have been heard.
They are, but there’s no reason to criticise the player body that is the CSM.
is it not a valid point that war dec mechanisms had to change as they were being used by griefers in a manner to maliciously target smaller corps for easy kills and greifing ?
Like suicide ganking it’s forced exploitation of the game mechanics, it makes people leave the game , that’s bad.
Rather than a fixed fee for declaring war, make the fee inversely proportional to the size of the corp wardeced. So it would cost more to declare war on a small 10 man corp…I’d argue for a cost roughly the same as that of a quantum core…as that is the thing many are after.
AIKO has also suggested this fix where larger is cheaper and smaller is more protected. It makes sense. Adding money is definitely meant to hinder the activity. In reality it just puts power in the hands of the rich which is simply removing the activity from the general public. Nothing would change if we do that. This was the anti PVP mentality that started before 2016 which raised the prices.
Adding a pay wall as such when you are dealing with corps who have isk to burn won’t solve the problem.
Griefers are vindictive they will pay to get their own way . When a persons goal is to make people leave the game they will do so at any cost especially when said cost is replaceable .
He was actually saying to remove the pay wall. We are agreeing lol why would you say crazy things like the goal is to make people leave the game? The goal is to create content and a better game for all. I’ve war decced thousands of players and stolen billions and all of it was done with friends that I play games with online. That’s what makes eve a better game bro. We aren’t enemies irl. We are playing a game together so relax.
Once they bank someone they invite them to their channel and insult the victim.
No advice given other than hand over your isk and we will leave you alone (another lie).
Increasing the isk cost of this “content” won’t solve the problem as they are happy to pay it.
This “content” isn’t making their victims want to continue playing either, it’s a stranglehold on the new blood coming into the game and needs removing.
Insults are not in the context of the conversation refrain from using them as it’s a breach of the rules, be civil.
My reply stands, increasing the ISK cost for war decs against smaller corps won’t deter Greifers from war decing smaller corps. As it stands the war dec system is appropriate in regards to preventing Greifers from using that tactic.
Ganking is now the only forced PVP that requires eradication.
Do me a favor and do not speak to me again and I’ll return it. If you want my viewpoints just read the damn post which you have failed to do… I just figured out how to block people. That’s awesome goodbye for 4 months.
