Not sure how its game breaking, but i guess i’ll looking long term and big picture, not narrow slighted, short term and single aspect like some in this topic.

Hate to say but many in this topic haven’t taken into account the future announced changes, and have gone for the instant knee jerk reaction which seems common with gamer of today.

As many have mentioned already, this is only one of many adjustments to the industry side of EVE. And player need to see the big picture otherwise they’ll just appear to be idiots yelling about a very small part of a big picture everytime one of the planned update rolls out.

Even the Dev is stupid… Ubiquitous… its not R4 ffs.

Also, nice changes, back to the belts we go like we have for over a decade. Eve will carry on. “Can I have your stuff” to all the folks leaving.

Go read the planned rollout of changes for industry and you might get an idea.

Stop being a knee jerk responder. This is only one small part of s multiple part planned update.

think might get the popcorn started with butter, no need for salt as that’s already flowing more than needed.

Yes because we literally can’t plan around future mystery changes that may or may not come. This the world we live in and given CCPs history the likelihood for it change is very slim. How many Fanfests in a row did we see them announce shield slaves, one of probably the easiest things for them to add for those to be delayed. It was something like 5 years from first revealed to actually being released.

We can’t say the game will be fine in a year when they change BPOs because the in game market might not survive a year of extreme mineral reduction. If CCP wants to make some change like this it can’t afford to be staggered out.

They say they are going to monitor the changes but even that is something they have historically failed out. During blackout they were monitoring player numbers, but also introduced login rewards at the same time. After that was over they admitted they had no way of knowing if people logged in because of blackout or because of rewards and just had to assume it was blackout. They are awful at tracking things and even worse at understanding their own game economy.

Protip, before the reprocessing change, most minerals did not come from mining they came from reprocessing.

Just a comment regarding this.

The short term narrow sighted version of this is that we are paying to play this game. The part of the game we enjoy playing has been massively changed. We have no confirmed timescale for this to be done with and at the moment everyone keeps saying “Aww, null sec miners are all super rich mineral hoarders, go suck it up”.

You can understand we feel unhappy about it, and here is the place to voice that, it is not narrow minded, it is simply focused on what we enjoy, and pay to do.

yea, im not a major mover in terms of being someone of influence in the game, I however do have 6 toons cause I like to mine and build capitals. This has basically taken my entire play style and made it no fun to play. If my wife hadnt subbed my toons for a year for me for christmas last year, i would unsub and just count my losses.

Yes and player numbers drop only due to knee jerk reactions of players not will to try something new.
Those players that tried the changes find it good and took advantage of said changes.

This will always happen.

You’ll have the salt criers/knee jerkers/nay saying with every update (this is historical proven).

And you’ll have those true players that try the updates and proved proper feedback in a positive, non-spiteful manner.

And then you have those from the first group that finally decide the update was as bad as they though and get on with the game.

Sure if you only focus on the current update (no matter what it is) and not the other updates related to it you’ll only see the negative from it.

But if you look at the update in conjunction of other updates coming you can weather the current update.

There will be a blog next week that explains the plan.

In contrast, people like you look like fools. The “knee jerk reactionists” that you lament have been telling CCP that the changes were bad from the beginning when CCP buffed Rorquals and introduced infinite slot-limitless production. People like, you on the other hand, kept telling CCP everything was fine and that the KNR didn’t see the big pictures. You made a fool of yourself and now you want to move the blame again to those who have always warned about the implications.

People are looking at the updates in conjunction with all other updates and all they see is garbage. There is never a good strategy visible, never a reasonable plan. There is only Stuff™ and CCP saying things and CCP only starting to listen to people when it is too late for anything. People have been telling CCP to fix Rorquals 3 years ago when it became apparent after the first MERs after the changes that this was not good. What did CCP do? “Nerf” rorquals in ways that required people to just bring more alts to compensate and everything stayed the same. People like you are the issue here, not the KNR you lament about.

The number of bots was extreme back then as well. Also rats dropped a ton of minerals that were refined. And drone regions.

How long do you believe people should blindly accept CCP is not making it worse? We are seeing massive nerfs with CCP saying these nerfs are intended to starve the economy. Then they will think about making things better. This isn’t just random Doomsaying but CCP actively attempting to destroy the economy. If CCP wanted this to be a good change for the game they would do the whole thing at once. Instead they seem intent to starve out the game for who knows what reason. Given their recent sale to PA the reason could very well be they want to introduce more pay to win and less ability for people to fund themselves

Then you shouldn’t do anything. The game is always changing and nerfs/buffs are always happening and you can never plan anything.

i do not think that is going to happen.

Now what i think they have alluded to, is increasing the amount requirements of Atmospherics, Silicates, etc in the Moongoo processing Blueprints

Every negative comment is seen as a knee jerk reaction to this instance, however you will see the same people responding to previous patch notes and forum thread voicing the same opinions. This is not a one off instance, this has been going on since December and we are not seeing a date for when the positive aspect (from a miners point of view) is due to take place. It could be another 4 months, or 6 months until those that mined effectively before can do so again.

From a previous comment
Effective positioning within an ore anomaly is what all miners do, however, positioning yourself 20km+ away from a rock is not effective and will cost you excavator drones which are not cheap. Ineffective or inefficient mining is worse than what we have now.

Currently I can mine in a Rorqual with support using 2 accounts. I am happy with this. To mine belts or the way the anomalies are now needs a fleet of smaller ships each targeting smaller rocks. This required more accounts, that need to be paid for (benefit for CCP) and with less chance of being PLEX’d.

Managing fleets with vast numbers of smaller ships is not easy, unless external software is used, banned by the EULA and rightly so.

Mining in anomalies where you waste half your time waiting for your core to drop is not fun, and not something we pay for.

I am going to disagree with you on that. High Sec lost more ships in total then null sec or low sec last year. While the isk value lost for high sec is low the isk/loot/minerals are way less.

Where is the reward for the increased risk of the FoBs or Trigs? NO WHERE because CCP has removed the reward but not the risks!

This doesn’t apply to EVE. You can’t “win” EVE. EVE has no leaderboards, no final boss, or any other such things that would allow you to “win”…

What I am doing is what I should be doing. Explain to CCP that massive sweeping changes are not good. Do you think people would fly ships if ccp said “oh all damage is being cut in half, we might look into HP later this year” or would that basically destroy all PVP. Would I be able to call everyone upset about a knee jerking idiot and that they should just wait the 6 months to see what CCP will do?

Enjoying the game is a win. Spending your free time enjoying yourself is a win.

Spending your free time wasting it is not a win, watching what you do enjoy being changed for the worse, is not a win
