More moon graphics variety! (Nevermind, looks like there is a lot of variety already!)

All moons in EVE seem to look the same, like this:

Which looks very much like it is inspired by our moon on Earth.

But moons can look different too!

Why do they all look the same?

Why not some variety to look at while we spend a lot of time mining those same moons?

For example we could have:

Io

Enceladus

Europa

Callisto

Or even give a smaller one the look of an object that isn’t entirely round yet as it doesn’t have enough gravity to do so, like Phobos:

and many more.

I’m not asking for more moon ore, more moon game mechanics or anything like that here, just more varied graphics.

Give us variation!

Use more alts to mine and you won’t notice.

I never look at the moon because I’m managing 8 Hulks and an Orca.

Also, why put more resources into catering to the portion of the player base that’s always alt-tabbed out of the game anyway?

That’s one way to optimize the fun out of a game.

Personally I like to play for fun rather than for ISK. And looking at the exact same moon everywhere looks pretty bad.

More variation please?

The new planet graphics look awesome and we’ve got plenty of variety there. Even suns all have their own colour. Just moons are boring and always the same.

I like. The planets really look awesome already, shouldn’t be that hard to have a variety of like 10 different graphical moon models.

Okay, I went to take a few pictures of some moons and now that I see them next to each other there is a lot more variety than I thought:

nah, they are still all felsic/rocky, a bit more colors/terrains would really be nice. And shouldn’t be that hard to implement.

Yep, that’s why I thought they were all the same, because whenever I saw one I thought “just like our moon”. Same color, same material, same atmosphere-less asteroid impact patterns and ‘mares’… just the same type of moon.

It’s only after looking them side-by-side that I saw clear differences and variation.

I agree that a bit more colors and terrains would be nice. Add a moon with ice or volcanoes perhaps? One with a shimmer of an atmosphere?
