Mouse gets locked in place on Mac Big Sur

I just got this issue on my Mac but I am not sure which Alt key combo triggered it - I think it was Alt-V which I have mapped as my Cmd-V for Paste and seems to conflict with an EVE keybinding for opening the Activity Tracker, but found this old post and Alt+R fixed it, but how do I prevent it from happening again? I don’t have any Radeon driver overlay programs like this guy talked about, that I know of:

Mouse gets locked in place

Hello Pilots, if you use the standart key bindings the combination “alt+r” opens the market window. Today I encountered the problem that my marked window doesnt open (but in the settings it is still the same combination) instead my mouse cursor gets locked in place. Everything keeps running as normal just the cursor is locked in place. Now if I press “alt+r” again the cursor is unlocked. I tried to recall the problem with other programs but it only appears when eve is running. I am using a log…

AMD Radeon R9 M395X 4 GB
Big Sur 11.01

In OS 11 I have alt mapped as my cmd key and windows key mapped as alt so not sure why EVE is not respecting that either …
