MultiBox 100% CPU

Since the latest patch my CPU spikes to 100% and stays there when running multiple eve clients.

When I run a single client, my CPU sits at 2-4% which is normal.

With two clients open at the same time, my CPU jumps to 40%

With three clients open at the same time my CPU jumps to 75%

Any additional client and I stick at 100% CPU. I have been running 8 clients comfortably and without issue for years.

This high CPU is for simply running the clients, docked, doing nothing. I run in complete potato mode. I have the same result regardless of using Directx 11 or 12.

CPU - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-12700KF 3.61 GHz
RAM - 64.0 GB (63.9 GB usable)
OS - Windows 11 pro version 24H2

Anyone have suggestions?

Are you docked at a player station or an Npc station?
Player stations also have an extremely high utilization rate for me in the indoor view, but when I activate the outdoor view it improves immediately.

There’s your problem…

Performance problems with Windows Pro 11 24H2

Since installing Windows Pro 11 24H2, the performance on my Alienware Aurora R11 has degraded significantly. I have also had other buggy behaviors which existed before 24H2. The machine has an i9-10900, 10 cores (20 logical processors), and 64 GB memory. One would think that with a high-performance computer, an operating system should not throttle it with a bloated set of services.

Player station.

To follow up, making sure all my clients are on performance mode and Dirext X 11 seems to have dropped the cpu to a normal 20%-55%.

The really odd thing I am finding is, I will get 100% CPU and stick at 100% still. Seems random, I have to shut down all clients, restart them and they may or may not spike. If I get no spike, it seems good to go. If I get a spike…well…i usually end up freezing up.

Windows 11 does suck balls.

For anyone facing similar problems. When my CPU spikes (and stays pinned) to 100%.

I have found toggling ultra potato mode (alt+shift+f9) on the clients with the highest CPU reliably fixes the issue. Usually only have to do this on one or two accounts and I got from 100% to 22-32%. Dont ask me why this works, but it does.

Try lower graphic game resolutions?

I use potato mode, and it still happens. I think its a Windows 11 + eve issue, where the high CPU is a symptom rather than the cause of my issues as I also get complete PC freezes that I need to hard boot from.

Welcome to the club. I can’t play eve anymore. Can’t undock anythign because my game could creeze any moment.
