Multiboxing Poll

Trash post.

–Gadget wants your stuff

Neither did CCP design the game for afk cloaking, nor does it even need to be done by alts.

Multiboxing, while having a negative impact for the game in several aspects (WH Pvp, Industry etc), is just the way it is in EVE unfortunately. Out the peak online accounts (about 32k), I would be generous isf I said there were 10k actual players. CCP simply can’t limit multiboxing even if they wanted to as this has been the state of the game for years. It would be the end of EVE

Did you know there’s a bank that accepts cheese wheels (of a specific type) as collateral. I mean right? ■■■■■■■ cheese man.

In other news, multi-boxing is fine. I mean, I don’t know what else to really say about it. You either think it’s fine, or you don’t. We all have our reasons for what we think and we are unlikely to convert anyone on the other side.

As an aside though, what really constitutes multi boxing. Is it strictly having more then one character performing the same activity at the same time, or is it just having multiple characters logged in at once?

I remember reading something about this. It’s in Italy, right? I think they deal in Parmesan, and maybe other hard, long-lived cheeses.

Pretty sure it’s same activity.

It would encourage more player interaction, but it would also be buff to large groups, and piss off a lot of the solo community -which is a valid play style. So, there’s definitely tradeoffs.

i was speacking of cyno backup super or capital .
They have implement it to force people to have alt with cap. CCP admit it. So you need to stop spin : CCP create game mechanic to be done with multi account.

Bingo! I’ve got Bingo!

The bottom-right square needs an adjustment now.

Yeah, I know he’s banned. But I’ve seen that comment in so many threads, it seemed wrong not to include it.

Link?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that sore losers predate Eve.

Not only do I not think that multiboxing has anything to do with being a sore loser, but I don’t think that the eve player base is, as an aggregate, all that toxic or sociopathic. I’m sure the freedom to scam, steal, betray, and all that attracts some actual scumbags to the game, but, on the whole, I have found the community to be friendly, helpful, mature, and low on toxicity.

Now that you mention it, however, it does seem like a lot of the people accusing the community of being sociopathic or toxic are actually confusing “non-consensual PvP” and fighting “dishonorably” with toxicity.

I take it to mean multiple characters logged in and active (as opposed to sitting in station).
So if I have a scout, webber and freighter pilot, I take that as those 3 characters multiboxing.

While you will get more value out of multiboxing by letting your characters work together (one mining ship and one boosting; one hauling ship and one scouting; one capital ship jumping and one cyno alt), it is also possible to multibox by mining on one alt while camping a gate on another.

Multiboxing is when you have multiple characters logged in at the same time.

I don’t really care, just my opinion, but just the same (not saying you), people get butt hurt when miners run multiple accounts and cry foul about it, they constantly call for nerfing to hell this activity and have successfully got it nerfed.

If people can only have 2 accounts running at any time then everyone is on a level field so people can stop crying about people multiboxing with their 100 man 1 man fleets.

Don’t get me wrong, I do understand the concern. But where do you draw the line? How many is to many? Another poll?

No answers to this, everyone will have their own thoughts.

Wow doesn’t have rules against multiboxing. They have rules against botting and RMT, just like eve does.
I currently have a warrior, priest and warlock that I use to farm various items. The warrior tanks (aoe taunt capabilities with damage mitigation), the priest heals, the warlock dps. I sac the pet for increased dps, and to prevent pathing pulls.
I have the ah mount, which cost 5 million gold, and I achieved that from farming.
Similarly, I have 103b isk, and nearly 700b worth of ships, modules and skins. I use to own 21 stations in highsec, but either sold them off or lost them to wardec.
Just today I shipped 3 jf’s full of compressed ore to null, which provided me with enough raw material to start building 3 rorqual, 2 nidhoggurs and 2 providences.

Multiboxing is not, has never been, and will not be cheating. Nearly every mmo out there allows it, and we provide the majority of the economy that everyone benefits from.
Without us, you’d see a serious shortage of ships, modules, and ammo. There wouldn’t be any war, only small skirmishes, and you wouldn’t have all the stations floating in space.
You wouldn’t have as rapid a plex market, readily accessable implants, injectors, cerebral accelerators, skins, bpo’s, bpc’s.
The list goes on.

The point being, everyone can do it, and everyone can take a portion of the market. There are several trade hubs that need constant stock.
The only thing stopping you is you.
Hardware wise, you could probably play eve on a pentium 2 with 512mb of ramm. (Exaggerating a little bit, maybe)
Any newer computer can multibox. In a couple hours a night, you could impact a production line pretty easily. Even with the ore changes.
In null, you could rat in several systems without much impact on the dynamic bounty. Gilas aren’t that expensive and provide steady ticks.
If pvp is your thing, you could gate camp using drones and bubbles.
Maybe logistics is your thing. Light those cynos, baby.
Regardless, all it takes it adaptation and the willingness to learn how to manage your accounts.
Start up costs are minimal.

If you believe multiboxing is unfair to you because you’re only running 1 account, you may as well join us because you’re not going to beat us.
You think multiboxing has driven away thousands of players? I think it has more to do with the constant whining and complaining. The trolls, the a holes, and an unwillingness to adapt.
This game evolves every year. It’s player driven, and ccp moderated. Adapt or fade.

You are taking issue with this NOW?

I gave you an opportunity to drop it. Why don’t you?

Take devblog, fanfest video etc… When they are proud to said 11 character is the average number of character for 10 year + player.

I will not make job of search it for you. You have google, you have a brain, you could search it by youtself and you will learn a lot on CCP by doing that.
