This system is broken as ■■■■.
You need to find a new corp.
You coud wardec your own holding blow up the stations your self so only Station plus rigs are lost but loot is still in your Corps hands.
if he is director, no issue with taking the structure ?
False. Only the CEO can act on the result of a vote. A director can vote to create 9999999 shares and win the vote but the shares won’t be created unless the CEO (not a director) applies the change. Take it from me, I spent a couple of years trying to claim CEO over a corp I had Director access in on an alt. CCP wasn’t particularly helpful (they have an explicit policy in which they will not pass leadership no matter how long CEO has been inactive), but I finally managed to claim CEO in the end. Painful process, joyous results.
You : “director died because of covid can you gimme the director role ?”
CCP : “sorry about that, covid pandemic is really bad.”
You : “Yes, he ate fish anti-parasitic and died as a result. Can I have director roles ?”
CCP : “NOPE.”
Do I detect Andersen having a sense of humour?
Anything in the corp hangers is lost, clear you personal hangers, and if you can’t access them have the items moved to asset safety.
In my opinion, CCP should implement a “grandfathered asset safety for existing abandoned structures” where all existing POSes that are currently low powered, then go to abandoned, then go destroyed do end up getting asset safety, but future POSes, and those existing POSes that become abandoned but then get repowered and subsequently abandoned and destroyed do not get asset safety.
Edit: Additional commentary from patch release thread:
That solution doesn’t deal with the “bloat” of low power structures already in existence. People need a reward for removing them, otherwise the better solution is to just have CCP tear them down.
And everyone will end up with putting raitaru in any possible system just to get guaranteed asset safety for sale.
We need more risk in game not safety. Also, those are not POS…
Not really. There are some flaws to your logic:
- This only impacts groups that are likely to let them go dormant in the first place. If a corp is unlikely to abandon their POS (they’re active and they’ve got roles set up so several people can refuel), then there is literally no reason to artificially populate POSes left and right prior to take advantage of the grandfather clause. The grandfather clause would be completely inapplicable to such active corps. For corps liable to become dormant… it would be beyond foolish to field POSes aggressively to take advantage of the grandfather clause if a corp is likely to abandon their POSes due to high likelihood of inactivity or insufficient manpower to maintain them. If they want to field POSes knowing they are unlikely to maintain them… honestly? Let them - they can decorate our killboards.
- Do you really think Astrahuses/Raitarus/Athanors are going to last long even when fully onlined and defended? They topple over relatively easily.
- Nobody is going to start fielding larger POSes (namely Fortizars and Keepstars) if they are likely to abandon them just to take care of the grandfather clause. They are not exactly a dime a dozen in terms of the ability (or willingness) for most corps to acquire and field them wholesale. That’s flushing ISK down the toilet to field expensive POSes you know you’re going to abandon and hence all but guarantee their destruction.
In other words, this is a grandfather clause that people WON’T be rushing to take advantage of by the nature of what is changing. The only thing the grandfather clause does is make gentler a bad situation for those who were not present when the patch was released, not preserve a good situation (eg. such as retaining unlimited data plans when cell phone companies discontinued them)
Also: POS = Player Owned Structure. Control Tower “Stick” POSes are being phased out, so the term is being reclaimed for use to apply to Upwell Structures. The majority of the EVE community recognizes POS to refer to Upwell structures by default unless specified otherwise.
@Panala_MuvilaPanala Troll successful.
Thank you to those who have posted some advice on what to do;
Some of the things that Ive done over the last couple days
- I still have access to the structures and I realised I could unfit them and that's what I've done
- The suggestions that Scipio Artelius send in his reply (first response in the thread) that I didn't already have, have been setup
- I have the ability to fuel up the stations though it's not feasible for me now as it would become an extra expense for me to fuel (about 30mil a month on 3 stations; which mean I must earn a PLEX + the running cost of stations ill never use) and I now live full time helping run a corp null security space
- I have the means to protect those structures once the new patch goes live but I'm hoping that won't be necessary
Some potential options for the stations (please suggest some if you come up with anything)
- Im hoping a CCP Dev will see this post and unanchor my corps structures or deliver the isk equivalent split between those still active in my holding corp or something along those lines though I don't expect CCP to do anything as it was a player made problem
- I may make it into a public set of stations and hope people will donate if they use it a lot so I can keep it fueled at no cost to my own wallet
- Whatever you guys suggest I do with the hulls otherwise :)
P.S Im not 100% clear if the new patch will only affect POSes or all structures (I’m pretty sure its all structures) and I want to be prepared with a plan if it does affect citadels
Please change the formatting to something human eye-friendly. I want to read this but it hurts the windows of my soul to read it.
CCP isn’t going to help you.
If your corp leadership has quit the game, your best option is to find a new corp.
Bit of an update…
Biggest apologies on the formatting, I’m still getting used to the eve forums.
I found a loophole in the way my corp CEO set up the structure privileges which allow ed me transfer the structures into a temporary corp for sale. I also managed to get into contact with another leadership (not the CEO) and was talking to them and it turns out our Ex-CEO owes him something between the 8-10bil mark and me about 5 or so bill due to things our CEO slacked in and managed to stuff up.
Anyhow the structures are now for sale with their fit and an eve appraisal in the BIO and now I just need a seller (contact me if interested):
The station names are:
Balle - Valhalla FOR SALE CHECK BIO
Balle - Infinity FOR SALE CHECK BIO
Slays - Moondust FOR SALE CHECK BIO
And as their name says; check the bio for more details and I’m open to negotiations.
You made a big mistake advertising these structures on the forums. Since these structures are still live, you’re asking for them to be wardecced given that the systems they’re in are infested with pirates (no, I’m not one of them) and now they know they are poorly defended. You should decommission/scoop up these structures ASAP and sell the structures/modules/armaments as items rather than fielded - otherwise they will be destroyed.
TBH thats fine cause they are already sold
